... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 100 PM EST Thursday for
Newaygo... Gratiot... Isabella... Clare... Osceola... Muskegon... Oceana...
Mecosta and Montcalm counties...

At 518 am EST, local law enforcement reported flooding across the
warned area. Numerous roads remain closed yet as a result of the one
to two inches of rain that had fallen earlier in the week. Most of
the creeks and rivers are either creating or still rising.


Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Muskegon, Mount Pleasant, Big Rapids, Alma, Greenville, Clare,
Ithaca, Hart, Newaygo, Evart, Stanton, White Cloud, Shelby, Muskegon
Heights, St. Louis, Fremont, Roosevelt Park, North Muskegon,
Whitehall and Reed City.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Muskegon river near Croton.
* Until late Saturday night.
* At 8:30 PM Wednesday the stage was 10.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast, the river will continue to fall below flood stage by
Saturday early afternoon.
* Impact, at 10.0 feet... expect all public river access sites to be
closed.
* Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 10.0 feet
on Apr 1 2016.

the little Muskegon river near Oak Grove
* until late Thursday night.
* At 08 PM Wednesday the stage was 10.3 feet.
* Impact, at 10.5 feet... expect minor flooding of low lying wooded
areas adjacent to the river.
