Listen, can you hear it? Spring's sweet cantata. The strains of grass pushing through the snow. The song of buds swelling on the vine. The tender timpani of a baby robin's heart. Spring.

Koko and I felt the urge to ascertain if the earth is awakening, and indeed it is pregnant with promises of Spring songs and colors.

Yesterday the twig was brown and bare;
To-day the glint of green is there;
Tomorrow will be leaflets spare;
I know no thing so wondrous fair,
No miracle so strangely rare.
I wonder what will next be there!

Mixed with winter colors are the intrepid leaves of Daffodils, Crocus, Bleeding Hearts, and Columbines pushing their way out of the earth.

We found a Daffodil bud, a promise to be soon fulfilled.

Our dear children Rain and Aqua!

Our dear family. Momma and Poppa are extremely happy that our family spent time together this morning, and that our Rain and Aqua came to visit with us this weekend. They came Friday and left a short while ago. All is well in my world!

Goodness, Pros. Are Aqua and Rain up for a visit? If so, enjoy yourselves!

Sunny and extremely warm here today, as it has been for the past week.

I'll bet your garden is looking good. Mine is a mess. I haven't gotten out there yet to clean up the winter deadness.

Good Morning (((PROS))) ~

Hope that Aqua (and Rain, too?) have had a safe, pleasant journey and have arrived at your home. May their visit with you will be a most enjoyable and uplifting one for all!

It looks like our chilly gloomy past couple of days will be giving way, today, to a most delightfully warm spring season kick off. Our temps should average about 70F degrees most of the week! WHOO-HOO! Now that's a delightfully uplifting arrival for anyone!

Hope you're feeling well enough to be out and about with your loved ones, etc. Take care and I will do my best to keep in touch. Still very busy around here, but the better weather should make it more palatable.

May your neighbors respect you,
Troubles neglect you,
The angels protect you,
And Heaven accept you.

May you have:
A world of wishes at your command
God and his angels close at hand
Friends and family their love impart,
And Irish blessings in you heart.

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way-
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

Happy St Patrick's Day Pictures, Images and Photos

This greeting is for all of my friends, visitors, and all people of goodwill! Sorry that I am unable to post individual greetings on your blogs.

He he Ylee! Yes, the expression 'semper ubi sub ubi' is nonsensical in Latin but it is a nice pun in English. So here is the literal translation: always where under where, ergo the pun always wear underwear!
Yes, forsythia has a way of sprouting new plants from branches that touch the ground. That's how my neighbors got a hedge in their yard. We gave them the sprouting branches!
Thank you for the offer of your wife for cleaning my house. You are kind! The service we have sends 4 to 5 maids every two weeks to do the heavy cleaning jobs in my house. They have been pretty reliable (they are in their 4th year at my location) but just the day that I need them to be reliable there was a snafu! Obviously they did all in their power to send a cleaning crew here! They just left. I do not think that they will make the same mistake a second time. Are you aware of my 'red ant genes'? They surfaced this morning at 8am! I sure would not have liked listening to someone like me that early in the morning. Go rest red ant! It is an order! LOL

Alley, I know. You are always with me too, even when I do not stay in touch. Take care my friend. I have to make this short as I outdid myself with the response to Ylee, and I need to go resume my preparations for dinner.

, have fun in Lousiana. Looking forward to the stories you will write and the photos. And please do a little Zydeco dancing if you have the opportunity.

Good Morning (((Pros))) ~

George Clooney's arrest in Washington, DC, along with that of his 78 yr old father, Nick, and others was for a noble cause. They're protesting, in front of the Sudan Embassy, the blocking of humanitarian aid (food, medicine, etc.) into the country of Sudan, which is being sorely effected right now. More power to them! See safe link below.

Hope you're feeling better day by day and that Aqua's visit really helps to brighten your spirits as well as hers! BIG HUGS AND HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY TOMORROW!

Ubi=underwear? :)

I'm sure Rain and Aqua won't mind a little rain this weekend! The flowers will appreciate it, too!

I'm impressed by the swift and far-reaching results of that Amber Alert you posted! I wonder if the police in Reno were tipped by Homeland Security?

I'd offer my wife's services to clean your home if we lived, oh, about 600 miles closer! I do wish you'd come across a trustworthy , hardworking individual to do your housecleaning!

Our forsythia has gotten to the point that the branches have grown back into the ground, preventing me from mowing under it and letting all sorts of weeds grow!

I hope you have a great day today!

George Clooney has been arrested!

Actor George Clooney and his father have been arrested at a protest outside the Sudanese Embassy in Washington.

The protesters accuse Sudan's president, Omar al-Bashir, of provoking a humanitarian crisis and blocking food and aid from entering the Nuba Mountains in the county's border region with South Sudan.

Clooney and others, including Democratic U.S. Rep. Jim Moran of Virginia and NAACP President Ben Jealous, were arrested after being warned three times not to cross a police line outside the embassy. They were handcuffed and placed into the back of a U.S. Secret Service van.

Clooney said earlier that he hopes to draw more attention to the issue and that if action is not taken in the next three to four months we're going to have a real humanitarian disaster.

I would like to give credit for the above article but I cannot find the page I cited the info from. Sorry powers that be!

Thank you PROS for posting the Amber Alert on my blog last evening. Good to hear all was resolved and the child was found safe.

Overcast here today and a bit cooler with no wind at the moment. Need to go and get myself some breakfast and take my morning meds. For the first time in a long time, I got to bed before midnight and slept through till a little after 4 AM, got up fed Miss Smudgie then went back to bed for another couple hours. Finally had a decent night's sleep. Let's hope it lasts.

Have a wonderful Friday dear one. Good thoughts going your way, know that even if we don't chat much you are always with me in my thoughts and prayers. Have a fun day with Aqua and Rain.

Good morning, Pros ~ Never mind what the house looks like - it's who in it that counts! I know you'll have a wonderful time. I'm off on a little journey myself, to the Rabbit Festival in Louisiana - maybe I'll get some rabbit pie!

Aqua, I sure do hope you travel with your ubi! Will explain when you get here. Lets keep our readers guessing, if they already haven't.

Pies non stop? Wait when you see how fat I have gotten! Hate it bit it persistently clings to me!

Matching shoes? I am impressed. I have not worn matching shoes in eons!

Can't wait to see you.

PS The house may be not too clean, my cleaners forgot to call me yesterday to say when they are coming today. Hopefully it was an oversight and not a forget to schedule my best customer on the one day that she really needs them to be here! I will call their office when they open at 8am.

now I really must RUN and find matching shoes

hi everyone- I am so LUCKY- I will be face-full of all of mom's flowers very soon, yellow pollen all over my nose

Prince George's County police said Sylvia Garcia took Wuilbert from Dodge Park Elementary in Landover shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday. His father has full custody, police said.

Morning to you. Another grey day here, I think the sun has forsaken us!
But I will not complain, as rain is "promised" for the weekend! Yeah! It will wash away the greyness and clear the atmosphere.... hopefully :)

I do hope you don't have rain for your special weekend but have "Rain" instead! lol

Thanks for your comment on my photo - I agree, we can keep spring.... springing! If the sun comes out today, (it did for about an hour late yesterday afternoon,) I shall wander around the garden with the camera:)

Beware the ides of March

Who is it in the press that calls on me?
I hear a tongue shriller than all the music
Cry "Caesar!" Speak, Caesar is turn'd to hear.

Beware the ides of March.

What man is that?

A soothsayer bids you beware the ides of March.

Good morning. Just a brief WU visit this morning.

Ylee, yes Rain and Aqua are coming for the weekend. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We have had incredibly warm weather, for this time of the year, and no rain. Now they are saying that there will be showers Sat., hopefully they will be brief and gentle. I will give them your greetings. I suppose you know that my heart is singing ..
Don't worry about the pruning, there is always next year. Although if you really wanted to prune the clematis, you can still do it. I pruned mine just a few days ago and already new shoots are emerging from the ground. Forsythias do get big but I like the unruly branches full of buds! My hubby has a mania, each spring after the Forsythia blooms he prunes the bushes mercilessly! As a result the bushes are not graceful but stubby and utilitarian.

, I did go to the site about the photographs, very interesting. My art teacher would have a heart attack if we used a photo taken by someone else (professional or taken by someone other than the painter himself). It is her pet issue and each term we get the lecture about copyrights, etc. We have discussed about photos from sites that allows the photos to be copied and painted, or even sites that sell photos for painters. Actually those paintings cannot be sold, shown in shows, not be part of any commercial venture. There have been interesting court cases that support the original owner of the image, regardless of how the artist came into getting the photo. But if the artist in a hobbyist and does not sell nor display the painting, I personally do not see a problem with copyrights issues. The teacher/artist does not agree with me!
A couple of times I have liked a WU photo and asked for permission from the owner to use the photo for a non-professional painting. Permission has been given each time, I have done the painting and sent a photo of the painting to the kind photographer. BUT, I would never enter that particular painting in an art show. It has been a few years since I have shown my paintings so no sales! Besides I never went out for a sale, the buyers came to me with offers.
Semper ubi, Sub ubi, nice pun in English! Rest assured, I never go without my ubi! In public anyways!
For someone who would not spend too much time on the blog this morning, I sure am verbose.

Sandi, beautiful photo of the daffodil. Isn't spring just beautiful in its renewal and message of hope? Please do treat me with photos of your beautiful yard and the flowers growing there.
I have been posting on your blog so I will make this short.

I need to check the previous page to see if there are more posts to acknowledge. In the meantime, please have a wonderful Thursday, Friday, and weekend everyone. LOVE AND PEACE TO ALL!

Hi, Pros! It's been beautiful over here the last few days; unfortunately, I've been stuck on nights! Oh, well, when I'm busy at work usually means something unforeseen is coming that the money will go to! God's blessings at work! :)

I have had time to see all of our spring growth! The forsythia is blooming! I'll be glad when it's done blooming, as it's been years since I've pruned it, and it's become very unruly!

I never had the chance this spring to prune the clematis, and now that it's starting to leaf out, I'm just going to leave it alone!
Roses are leafing out, as is our young Willow tree! Hope the frost stays away!

Isn't Aqua and Rain supposed to be there this week? Give them my best regards!

Morning, Pros,

I found the most interesting book listed while I was browsing the Daedalus catalogue last night. It made me think of you, but I'm out of time now - I'll tell you about it tonight.

I do hope you're feeling better. We have a lovely day ahead of us - I think. I just looked out the window and it seems to be getting dark. Maybe a morning shower? I hope now, but we'll see.

The funny Latin BF brought by makes me think of a slogan I came across somewhere: Semper ubi, Sub ubi You can figure that one out!

Good morning. Here it is a warm sunny morning. When I got up this morning the temps were at 55! I think that by the afternoon it will be hot! We are supposed to get showers later, I'll just enjoy this moment.

I have been busy with periods of rest. The rest of the week will be the same. So I will be checking in from time to time in a limited way.

After the morning incident, I felt depressed all day. I just could not shake the depression. Normally I just ignore these calls but this was not one of those times. I am sure that today's sunshine will brighten my outlook.

Jus, please keep up with the interesting expressions. I like linguistic 'curiosities'! And please do lighten whatever situation with humor, best way to dispel the sad moments or an unpleasant situation.
I am so glad that you enjoy nature as much as I do, it is such a wonderful gift to humankind.

GG, what a gorgeous photo. It cheers up my heart and improves my outlook. I hope that you are still seizing a few hours here and there to do some unplanned fun activity. Enjoy life, nature, hubby,.... I do try to take my own advice, most of the time but not always. LOL

WP, so glad that you stopped by with the gifts of music. Nature and music, both are good for my soul! Thank you.
If I ever answer the phone in one of my languages, it will be a litany of words I seldom use! It is much easier to swear in foreign languages!
Yes, I did take a walk around the yard and did a little bit of spring pruning. I am just amazed how a few days ago it was very bleak around the yard but all of a sudden the daffodils bloomed in a symphony of wonderful yellow and white colors. Viva spring and nature!

Sandi, I had never heard the expression about coming on a banana boat. Love your neighbor! My caller was very much American, I visualized him as blond and blue eyed. This was one reason that I did not 'catch on' sooner than I did. I think that I will put a whistle next to the phone and blow it loudly when one of these calls comes in again. It is a trick that I used when someone took to calling me in the wee hours of the morning (when I was working), a few blasts of the whistle and I never got that call again. Someday I will tell about the part time teacher who came to work in my department... she is probably in jail as I write this. Giggle, giggle. No, I did not giggle at the time.
I already commented about the beautiful photo you posted, thank you so much for sharing the beauty with me.
The photo of the periwinkle was taken this year. I just love those little jewels.

Hi Ylee. I came by your blog last night to check out the new cams. Everyone was asleep, almost everyone. Have a good day ylee!

Briar, absolutely true. One never knows when our life as we know it, or life itself is taken from us. So let's enjoy the moment! And give thanks for the little pleasures in life.
I will be praying for you the day of your procedure.

Hi bug! Yes, the NORO virus has been visiting quite a few people in this area. Since it is highly contagious the only way to stem it, is to stay home for the duration. Unfortunately people either do not care, or are not thinking clearly and go around spreading to everyone else. I have stayed away from people. At first I stayed home because I was too sick to go anywhere, then because I made a conscious effort not to share my 'good fortune'. I am not a Saint, far from it. But I feel that I need to do my part to stem this little bug!
Glad that all is well and that you are just busy.

Shore, when I saw the info on the skunk cabbage, I thought of you immediately! LOL, I remembered how much you enjoyed the cam at the museum (arboretum ?) where the big odoriferous plant was growing. To me it is obvious that the hundred year plant and the skunk cabbage are from the same family. The funny thing is that the 'smell' is actually the incredibly intense scent (good) of the flower.

Oh, dear. The ubiquitous prank caller. Well, not prank caller, exactly. Prank calls were what we made as kids, when we'd call and ask, "Is your refrigerator running?" If the person was too slow to catch on and said, "Yes", we'd tell them they'd better go catch it! Likewise - the call to the store asking if they had Prince Albert in a can, etc.

These goofs - like the one you got - are after information. It was a continual battle with mom, because she thought you always should be polite to someone who called, and she always assumed that if someone was asking for information, they had a good reason. Finally, we found the perfect response, that allowed her to be polite and dismissive at the same time. She told them, "You'll have to talk to my daughter about that. Would you like her phone number?" They never wanted it. Funny how that works!

One of the best things I ever did was get rid of my landline phone and go completely cell. I do understand there are times when cells phones won't work, but when those times arrive (hurricanes, other natural disasters, etc. etc.) I'll either have evacuated or be trying to catch the cat. So I don't worry about that too much. What I do enjoy is the complete absence of spam calls. When the phone rings, I know it's either someone I want to talk to or someone with legitimate business. Talk about old school!

Wait, wait!!! I'm using that!

"I didn't go down the Ganges on the last banana boat"

Ha!!! I always liked: "I didn't just fall off the turnip truck" but I think I'm changing to Sandi's absolutely hysterical verse, and that will completely throw the yewts off! They'll be scrambling for their books or old movies! Whad she say? What did she mean?

Sorry you had prank phone trouble Pros. Hope you don't mind us making light a tad to lighten the load :) And, glad you didn't fall for it.

Plenty more I should say about flowers and lovely things here! You know they are in my sight and heart :) Spring!

Good Morning Pros, I'm sorry to hear of your lurching spring forward! :(
I hope you followed Sandi's suggestion and took that walk around the garden.
Consider answering your phone in Italian for a while. Make the callers ask for you by name.

After your walk, you can join David in the yard for a song...where you can relax and enjoy the view:

Michael has an unique style of playing this hypnotic piece. I hope this will carry you away from your concerns...

Dear Pros, how upsetting for you ... it was a pity you were not awake and your usual self, then you might have realised what it was immediately, and said ... "Sorry, you have the wrong number, I have no grandson called Chris! "

My neighbour, a retired policeman, had a strange call from someone who said they were from Microsoft. The caller said he had noticed a virus on my neighbour's computer and needed him to switch it on so he could talk him through it! My neighbour is a wise cookie and said, "I wish you and all your Asian cousins' a good day, but I didn't go down the Ganges on the last banana boat - goodbye!" And then he put the phone down! lol

Have a walk around your garden and breathe in some fresh air and see the beauty of the new spring flowers.... you will soon feel better:)

Good morning.

The morning has barely started and I already have had a peculiar and upsetting experience. The phone rang less than 10 minutes ago and a sweet young voice, cheerly says 'grandma this is your grandson Chris'. I was very taken back, not quite awake yet. I said 'who?' - Your grandson Chris, don't you recognize me, oh my God don't you recognize me?'? A lot went through my head, is this my older granddaughter's boyfriend, is there a grandson of whom I do not have any knowledge, etc. Utmost in my mind was the fact that the nephew who sadly recently died was Chris, and that someone was playing a sick prank on me. Fortunately I gave any information out, none! After a while I told him that I do not have a grandson named Chris and that he was breaking my heart with this call. He said by and hung up.

You guessed it and so did my husband, a scam call. I dialed star and 69 to get the number from which the call came, and then I did a quick google check. I discovered that 760-705-8888 number comes from the Apple Valley, Carlsbad, Encinitas, CA. It is associated with Google Voice chat phone (free calls), and it is a scam to hack your computer (among other things). Usually the voice is a foreign one (India) but my caller sounded like a blue eyed/blond haired teenager.

I cannot shake the thought of my nephew's passing and this episode will haunt me all day. Yes, I wish these good for nothing scammers, the worst case of Montezuma Revenge!

RIP Chris.
