... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 215 am CDT/115 am
MDT/ for southeastern Lea... northwestern Andrews and southwestern
Gaines counties...

At 1215 am CDT/1115 PM MDT/... local law enforcement reported flash
flooding in Jal at 3rd and Montana streets. This area was barricaded.
Radar estimates 3 to 4 inches of rain has fallen in southern Lea
County over the past couple of hours. Flash flooding is also
occurring elsewhere.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Eunice... Jal... Jal Airport and Bennett.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 130 am CDT/1230 am
MDT/ for Lea and Gaines counties...

At 1139 PM CDT/1039 PM MDT/... local law enforcement reported flash
flooding continuing in the warned area. Over 4 inches of rain have
fallen near Hobbs. Flash flooding is already occurring.

Some area reports over the past few hours:

6 to 12 inches of water running over Highway 62/385 10 to 12 miles
north of Seminole, with stranded motorists.

Motorists stuck in high water on Highway 62/180 23 to 24 miles west
of Seminole.

Highway 180 on the east side of Seminole is flooded with 6 to 12
inches of water flowing over the Road.

Highway 8 between Hobbs and Eunice has been closed due to high
water.

Joe Harvey Boulevard on the north side of Hobbs is flooding with 6
to 12 inches of water flowing over the Road.

Gaines County in western Texas...

* until 1245 am CDT

* at 944 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and Small Stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Seminole... Denver City... Seagraves... Seagraves Airport... Gaines County
Airport... Higginbotham... loop... Gaines County park... Cedar Lake... Paynes
Corner and Ashmore.
