Areal Flood Advisory, Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 6:54 AM CST Feb. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southeastern Denton County in north central Texas...
Tarrant County in north central Texas...
Collin County in north central Texas...
Dallas County in north central Texas...

* until 845 am CST.

* At 652 am CST, Doppler radar indicated showers and embedded storms
producing moderate rainfall across the advisory area. Two to three
inches of rainfall over the last day has saturated soils. Any
additional rainfall will lead to excessive runoff and cause urban
and small stream flooding. Areas that are low lying or usually
experience poor drainage are most likely to experience flooding.
This means some low water crossings in the region may become
impassable.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Garland, Irving, Grand
Prairie, Mesquite, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco, Denton,
Richardson, Lewisville, Allen, Flower Mound, Mansfield, Rowlett,
Euless and DeSoto.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
