... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 11 PM MST Saturday...

The National Weather Service in El Paso has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
until 11 PM MST Saturday.

* Event... snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches will be possible above
5,000 feet. Strong winds Saturday afternoon will cause near
blizzard conditions.

* Timing... precipitation will initially start out as rain on
Friday evening, but change over to snow Saturday morning.

* Main impact... roads will be snow packed and icy and difficult to
drive on. There could possibly be Road closure late Saturday
morning.

* Other impacts... strong and gusty winds Saturday afternoon will
produce blowing and drifting snow causing poor visibilities
under a quarter mile in some areas. Some locations will see near
blizzard conditions Saturday afternoon and early evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and
blowing snow. Use caution when traveling... especially in open
areas.
