... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from this afternoon
through Monday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southwest California including the following
areas... Coachella Valley... San Diego County coastal areas... San
Diego County deserts... San Diego County mountains and San Diego
County valleys.

* From this afternoon through Monday evening

* heavy rain will occur at times from mid afternoon through early
evening today. Periods of showers... some with heavy rainfall
will follow for tonight through Monday... mainly below 4000 to
4500 feet. Rainfall rates could locally reach or exceed one inch
per hour. This will bring a risk of flash flooding. Heavy rains
over recent burn scars could result in debris flows and mud
slides. In the mountains... a warmer air mass this afternoon and
early evening will result in rising snow levels and melting of
snow which will increase the risk of flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

High Wind Warning
Issued: 4:10 AM PST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning now in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to
6 PM PST Monday...

* winds... areas of south winds strengthening to 20 to 30 with
gusts to 45 mph for mid afternoon through early evening with
isolated gusts to 60 mph. Periods of gusty west winds 15 to 25
mph with gusts to 45 mph continuing for tonight through Monday.

* Timing... strongest winds for mid afternoon through early
evening.

* Location... strongest gusts near the coast.

* Impacts... the winds will make driving difficult... especially
for motorists with high profile vehicles. Watch for broken
tree limbs... downed power lines... and other debris.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.





Gale Warning
Issued: 5:33 AM PST Jan. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Gale Warning remains in effect until 4 am PST Tuesday...

* winds... southerly winds 20 to 25 kt with gusts to 35
kt... becoming southwest tonight... west Monday morning... and
then northwest Monday night.

* Waves/seas... combined seas 12 to 16 feet... with rough seas
continuing through Monday night.

* Slight chance of thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening
with wind gusts to 50 kt possible... frequent lightning... and
heavy rain squalls.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or
occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires
experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly
recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe
Harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
