Not a birder, would someone tell me the name, I haven't been able to locate it in my bird book. I am interested because, somewhere nearby my home, and I kinda suspect either sea oats or the sea grass for the location. I have not tried to find it, as I don't want to cause it any harm. It has been very successful with fledglings every year.

It's a Semipalmated Plover...a very common shorebird.

About gardner48197
gardner48197 4/2013: Greetings from Michigan, where we get a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! I originally found this site for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon L120/P520, which has helped photography become my favorite hobby! I have always loved the outdoors, and now I have a perfect excuse to get out and explore nature! What a great community here, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just I hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
