Dozens of massive tornado-size dust devils pound Slaton, Texas one right after another. The drought stricken west Texas plains seems to have become a dust bowl as sustained high winds wreak havoc on the farms. Slaton is situated just south of Lubbock, Texas.

I've seen these things and even went through one while trying to hide in a car wash and being pelted with rocks and sticks---it was frightening. GREAT capture!

Great capture. We see a lot of dust devils in Northern NM, but have not seen one this big. I can just feel the sand pebbles on my face just looking at it.

Awesome capture of the Dust Devil itself and great composition showing the drought stricken land, framed by the wonderful old sheds! 10!

Great shot! I remember my dad telling me during the "olden days" when he still lived on a farm as a boy, that he used to chase down dust devils to let them whirl him around - like a carnival ride. I doubt he'd have done that with one of this size though!
