Congrats on the VIP Ivan! Way to go. You must have gotten all the snow last winter that we should have, to still have that much left. LOL

Great pics!! And I have just one question: at what elevations were these photos taken? Seems to me you'd have to get pretty high up there before you saw any snow.

Here in Michigan (today) we're expecting a high of 104º with a heat index about 5º above the actual temperature. The parks are empty - and very dry. I was going to go fishing but... I don't like boiled fish. ha-ha!

In the high elevations after a winter of heavy snow, certainly not unusual. Saw it in the Serrias of California in the early 80's: 3ft in the higher elevations in early August!

Hi Ivan, when I lived in Seattle years ago I recall people saying that Mt. Baker was steaming. Is it still?? I always saw it covered in snow at any time of the year so I imagine it is a given there, and we had a brown Christmas here in ND. Take care and keep up the good Washington pics. Arlene

It's suppose to be 100 degrees+ today in Central PA. I'd rather have the snow... Reminds me of the winters back in Buffalo, NY.

Ahhhhhh! Refreshing is so right! This helps dilute the impact of the three-digit record-breaking temperatures here in Ohio today! Lovely photo AND series, and yes, I've saved this gem to Favorites!

oh, yes, I remember well the heavy snows in the mountains of western WA....they last and last and last some more and therefore the hiking season starts late.
Thanks for bringing back these memories!

Wow, you can send all that snow down to North Carolina. It's been 95+ for the last 10 days, we could use the cooling effect from it melting!

Thank you for all your appreciated comments Weather-Wonder Friends. The elevation at Artist Point is given as 5,100 feet on the map. (See photo "Parking Lot"). Temperatures here were cool throughout March, April, May and June and the snow fall was very heavy in this area during the winter. It is melting fast now but may still not completely melt out this year so if that happens it will probably accumulate and be deeper next year.

wowzer! I'm lovin' it! Your wonderful photo (Loved the whole series!)just dropped my body temp a few degrees and that is good.
I am in the Florida Panhandle and we have been pretty hot here but not as bad off as our neighbors to the north of us in Ala, Tenn, and Ky.
I am posting this on my Facebook page for the rest of the Hot Folks to view and chill out.
Thanks!

Beautiful series. There wasn't this much snow in the Beartooth mountains over 10,000 feet when I went over the Pass on June 22. In fact the high elevations were already blown clear by the wind above the tree line.
