After the demolition of the Old Sunshine Skyway Bridge, the concrete material, deck sections, pilings and steel girders were collected and placed offshore and along the remaining bridge approaches to become artificial reefs.

A photograph is a message of life distilled and preserved for eternity. It conveys a statement, an impression, or an emotion. My goal is to take the viewer to a place they may never have the opportunity to visit and to share this wonderful world in which we live in. We turn to nature to nurture our faith. Many of us have had our most meaningful spiritual experiences in relationship to the environment. Beauty provokes us to transcend our concerns, shortcomings and conflicts. We have heard the voice of God in the woods and waterways, in bird songs or the remarkable delicacy of a flower. Nature reveals God's glory...(Psalm 19). I believe that photography is a form of communication. If it says something worthwhile to the viewers, then it's a success. |

You can also view video of the demolition of the old bridge. On another note, people use this landmark and jump to their death, the latest being a 20 year old this Sunday, June 17, 2012. So sad!
