do they have the fire contained yet? we've had soo much smoke up here, I haven't had a chance to check around and see what's happening. things are soooo dry!!.........tough fighting a fire in any canyon, but the Feather River must be a real challenge!

The fire is zero containment and over 11,000 acres - they are thinking maybe another 10 days. The fire is at Beldon where the North Fork and Spanish creek meet.

I love this! So sorry about the fire... as an aside, back in the late 60's my father had a wood-chopping accident while we were camping at Almanor... got patched up at the little hospital in Chester. Fond memories of the area, despite the mishap. Thanks for sharing!!!
