I was flat on my back, with my camera above me on the tripod. My first time ever seeing yellow and red Aurora in Alaska. What an amazing sight!

Oh, this is so VERY COOL!!! I'm flying up to Fairbanks for vacation and our primary goal is to see the aurora! Maybe we should ask the pilot to drop up off in Anchorage instead....

For me in NY state, the Kp index has to get >6 to see some activity. You in Alaska probably see this at much lower scales!!
