Wet weather will persist over China on Wednesday as a developing system slowly moves through the country. A low pressure system will continue strengthening over central China and will advance further east. This will pull moisture in from the South China Sea and gain additional strength as it moves into the East China Sea. At the same time, flow around this system will create a strong frontal boundary that will kick up scattered showers and thunderstorms as it extends from Nanjing and into Changsha. Due to the more northern track of this system, light precipitation will move through northern China, while southern China remains dry. Hong Kong will see sunny skies with highs approaching 80(F)/ 26(C), while Shanghai will see scattered showers with highs in the mid-50s(F)/ lower teens(C). Expect overcast skies over Beijing with highs near 32(F)/ 0(C).

In the east, the front will reach over the Yellow Sea and into the Korean Peninsula by Wednesday evening. Thus, Seoul will see overcast skies with highs in the mid-40s(F)/ 6(C). Japan, however, will see another wet day as a lingering trough of low pressure kicks up light showers over most of the southern portion of the country. Expect light rain in Tokyo with highs near 50(F)/ 10(C).

In Australia, a few areas of weather activity are anticipated due to a large area of lower pressure hovering over the country. Multiple waves of energy will move through this system, triggering scattered showers and thunderstorms. Expect wet weather over much of the Northern Territory, as well as Victoria and Tasmania. Sydney will see a few patchy clouds with highs in the lower 80s(F)/ mid-20s(C).
