Weather Underground Forecast for Sunday, May 26, 2013.
In the Eastern Pacific Basin, an elongated trough of low pressure southwest of Acapulco, Mexico produces widespread showers. The system has weak circulation, but conditions are not favorable for development. Thus, the system has a low, 20% chance of tropical cyclone development by Sunday. Meanwhile in the Atlantic Basin, tropical cyclone activity is not anticipated on Sunday. However, areas of active weather will persist for the Caribbean Sea and Latin America. In the east, a cold front continues moving eastward and further into the Atlantic Ocean. The tail end of this system will linger over the Turks and Caicos Islands, extending into Hispaniola and Puerto Rico, triggering showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. In the west, a monsoonal trough of low pressure continues pushing moisture into Central America and Mexico. This will maintain showers and thunderstorms from Panama through central Mexico. Expect moderate to heavy storms to develop in some of these areas in the afternoon and evening hours.
