... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon through
Thursday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a Winter Storm
Watch... which is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through
Thursday afternoon.

* Timing... colder air will move in from northwest to southeast
Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night... changing
precipitation from rain to a mixture of snow and sleet. Snow
will gradually taper off Thursday morning

* snow and sleet accumulations... 3 to 8 inches are currently
forecast... with the higher amounts occurring along and north of
the mountain Parkway... and the lower amounts occurring along
the Tennessee and Virginia border.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

Kentucky... south central Kentucky and southeast Kentucky...
including the following areas... in east central Kentucky...
Bath... Elliott... Estill... Fleming... Menifee... Montgomery...
Powell and Rowan. In northeast Kentucky... Johnson and Martin.
In south central Kentucky... Laurel... McCreary... Pulaski...
Rockcastle... Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky... Bell...
   Breathitt... Clay... Floyd... Harlan... Jackson... Knott... Knox...
Lee... Leslie... Letcher... Magoffin... Morgan... Owsley... Perry...
