Mile Stone

This afternoon we warmed up the boat and untangled from the unusual "Stern to" moorage. This meant securing the bigger boat to our starboard and slipping the line someone had run from his bow to the fish boat on our port side so we could hand our boat out and take the first run with the renewed rebuilt power. T'was Brillig out there as you can see once my latest photo appears.
System ran well - cooling, oil pressure and charging all good. We are somewhat reassured but the earlier engine failure is still fairly fresh in our minds so I want to run a few short trips before we move a few miles to the preferred dock space.
Tucked back in to the stern to and put the overhead bow line connecting the bigger boats back in place. Also hung up a sign on the wiper motor to remind me to deal with the bow line before I proceed out of the hole.

Snuck back with wind and snow warnings all around. the worst we saw was fog and heavy rain on the Mallahat. We had planned to check out Botanical Beach but Renfrew was looking pretty ugly and we were a bit damp already - winter camping on this coast is hit or miss. We had good sun for Tloml's birthday at Carmanah and I took some pictures of the old growth Cedars but now I can't find the patch chord for the camera.
Nice to be home and now I'm further behind on the blogs .

Nice Camping Here!
Hot and cold water, split fire wood, power hookup and a level spot for the RV.
Wait a minute - this is Home!
We are back and everyone is fine. Roxy especially happy to be on her pillow on the couch with the fireplace and heaters all running full tilt.
T'was a bit cramped and damp but a lot of fun.
I'm gonna let the new picture I (hopefully) uploaded hang for a day or two to see if anyone can guess what it really is.
I'm way back on all the latest blogs so it may be a while but I'll get back in the groove.

Aquaman

1941:
Aquaman's first origin story was presented in flashback from his debut, narrated by the character himself:
“ The story must start with my father, a famous undersea explorer — if I spoke his name, you would recognize it. My mother died when I was a baby, and he turned to his work of solving the ocean's secrets. His greatest discovery was an ancient city, in the depths where no other diver had ever penetrated. My father believed it was the lost kingdom of Atlantis. He made himself a water-tight home in one of the palaces and lived there, studying the records and devices of the race's marvelous wisdom. From the books and records, he learned ways of teaching me to live under the ocean, drawing oxygen from the water and using all the power of the sea to make me wonderfully strong and swift. By training and a hundred scientific secrets, I became what you see — a human being who lives and thrives under the water. ”

My cards:

I've got a "Full House": Actually I've only got two pair - two girls and two dogs but I'm a wild card so that makes a full house. No need to try to guess which pair I'm making three of a kind.
Anyhow, back to the theme of my last blog entry:

has a quick summary of another "Sunken City".

And vice versa this morning.
Bogon got me wandering around Wiki and Google looking for information about "Sunken Cities".
I was interested in geology and anthropology long before there was WU or much in the way of computers.
Now I can view images of cities under the sea (Aquaman Comics did this for me in the '50s, but as far as I know these pictures are taken of real artifacts).
Most of the best stuff is linked to Atlantis or theories of "Alien" influence.
I don't care where the information comes from and you are certainly welcome to put links or images up here.
Gonna have to go out and come back to edit.
