Sorry I took so long to post, been kinda busy for my least favorite holiday of the year. At least we got some good potent weather here.
Was out on a service call north of Allegan we it first started to storm here. I thought the line of storms that gave the flash flooding to Holland was going to miss us. But it infact developed and closed in on us giving us some good wind. I snapped a couple pictures of the shelf cloud as it approached us from the north. Near Allegan we had gusts to 60mph, which brought down several trees along county road A37. I tried to get pictures but my camera sucks at night.
I rode with my friend into Holland to get her husband from work. And there were several roads flooded even some of the main roads had water over the road. With my camera sucking so bad, I didn't get any pictures until today. Gonna be a bad year for some of the local farmers, I wish the best for them. Also worth noting I'm shocked no one died in any of the flash flooding. We seen several people diving through fast flowing water, that eventually washed out roads seen in my pictures.

Today we had a Tornado Watch over southern Michigan. I was half expecting a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, as that was what was posted west of us over northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. We had several pop up thunderstorms during the day, and I thought the cloudy weather would hamper the effects of any storms associated with the front later on. I couldn't had been more wrong. We had one pop up evolve into a Supercell, it developed just south of us and passed t...

Probably one of my most memorable storms to witness, and least expected. Even back in 1998 I was a weather enthusiast, constantly watching and listening to weather reports, so I could know when to expect the nasty stuff. How ever in late May I had neglected my hobby and between work and school I was quite busy. This early May morning I was working in downtown Grand Rapids, MI for a security guard company.About the time the storm was on approach to our area, the o...

Another bust for severe thunderstorms in West Michigan, however I don't think the weather service was to enthusiastic about it occuring any way. A possibility is a possibility, its not often they say its likely. I sometimes get a little hyped over those small possibilities, its probably a good thing I don't play the lotto. The rain on the other hand did come in, and is holding quite intensely. Made a service call to Holland and it was comming down so hard at times...

Good morning folks, today we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 4pm. I'm no meteorologist but I think the watch may have been issued a little early. Curious as to what this line moving through is doing up towards Charles. Here in Allegan we're getting a little rain with an occasional clap of thunder. Of course I'm just catching the very south end of this line. Looking on the regional radar it could get interesting here later on, I'll update if we get a...
