Actually we have another donation so now we are at $1,220.00!!! {{{{Thank You}}}}

May 5, 2012: We did it. We ran the 3 miles and raised $1,020.00 !!!! So for a 4th year in a row we exceeded our goal of $1,000. Thank you all for your support! Most of this amount of our donations came from WU Friends.

I have pictures as soon as I can get them loaded here.. already tried earlier....will try again.

Let me see if I can copy and paste a picture from FB.

Hubby took this one of me "before" the 3 mile run.

img src="",>

We ask someone to take a picture of us "after" the 3 mile run.. like we do every year but for some reason
both photos he took are blury ..

img src="",>

That purple circle spot under my boobs is actually a sticker we got as we crossed finish line that says
"I did it!" I stuck it there not realizing how it would look in a picture! I also look pregnant but I'm not! LOL

May 3, 2012: This Saturday is the big event, the annual March of Dimes, March for babies. This event is held in almost every state and in some states a lot of counties.
Because of so many very generous friends and family...many of you right here from WU...
we have once again topped our goal... thank you so much.
I still have not included the cash/check donations which will take us over the $1,000 goal!
I found pictures from previous years and added them to the bottom.

Hubby and I take off work on this Saturday to participate in this fund raiser for a very good organization.
We both "run" the 5K (3.1 miles) instead of walking it..
At least it is no longer a 10K (6.2 miles) that was very hard for me and I doubt
I will ever be able to do that many miles again.

I have been a March of Dimes Mother since Greg was born premature back in 1975.
3 of our 5 grandchildren were March of Dimes Babies and the one coming this summer could also
need this organization but we hope not. So once again, I will walk/run for our Babies.

Here are my "weather" maps
Sunrise, Florida:

I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

March of Dimes March for Babies. Ellen and I with Rylee in the stroller did great! We did the 6 miles in 1 hr 20 mins. the first 5 miles we averaged 14 min miles and we ran the final 6th mile back into park under the finish line...and later we walked another 2 miles back to our parking lot instead of taking the bus. We got a workout today.

Hi Patti!

I get tired just thinking about your kitchen!

We hit 86 degrees today, the second time this year. So once again I am sitting on my balcony with a beer (only when it gets hot like this) and heavy thunderstorms are popping up nearby. Yesterday was over 80 also. Funny enough it ends quickly and tomorrow it will be rain and a high of only 57 degrees then dropping to 38 tomorrow night.

This time of year we just go from summer to winter and back again in just a few days.

There are strong wind gusts from a thunderstorm nearby and the temp has dropped to the mid 70's. Feels very good as there is no air conditioning in our houses. Guess that is what balconies and beer are for!!

Hi, gamma! June 1st is only three weeks away, so that means timewise you're halfway there! :)

You have twenty foot ceilings in the kitchen? I'll bet cobwebs are a beast to clean! :)

Take care of yourself!

Good morning,

Gro, I did not realize you live that far East. a friend who use to blog here alot lived in Wilton Manors and she never got rain. I would be drowning in rain and she would not get a drop..
I always remember when I use to take the kids to the beach when they were little, it would be raining at home and by the time we crossed I95 the rain would stop and the sun would be shining at the beach.
Glad you stopped by.

Sandi, thank you much. I see you are doing a little bedroom make over this weekend!
Well, I am still in a Mess of boxes and living off a folding table in the living room.
The cabinets are in..but not the granite counter top.
Hope it gets installed early next week.
Then I can wipe the dust out of the cabinets and start putting stuff back...

Also once the granite is in, the contractor will rehook up the water and sink .. and fridge willbe put back and stove will be working again.

The painter, we hope is going to finish a lot by this weekend... The ceiling is done, but all those walls need to be painted.. maybe tomorrow.

The contractor is going to build 2 wine racks to go on each side of the widown that is surrounded by cabinets... except for an 8" space on each side of window under the shelf above window.. it needs something and he wants to make it look nice...
then he is going to install new baseboards in the entire living area.. that will need to be painted also...

eventually we are going to get crown molding for the entire area...

and I am getting a chandelier for the Kitchen (it is a 20 ft ceiling that could use an nice kitchen chandelier hanging from that tall vaulted ceiling.

So...this Sunday is Mother's Day and I am leaving for Destin on Thursday May 17th and not returning until Monday May 21st...
I am hoping it is all finished by June 1st!... well maybe the crown molding will not be finished by then because that is another person that is not involved right now. My contractor does not like to do crown molding on vaulted cathedral ceiling with all those angles.. so we have someone else who does those...

Doesn't that all sound exhausting? LOL

Hi everyone, I have a few minutes during break I am sneaking a peek here...

This new LEAN process is working OK on my shift.. but it is to get more production with fewer people...
and I must be on the production floor more than I use to be. In some ways I like it because the day goes by much faster when you are busy all day.

But at night my legs and feet ache.(and I would like to think I am in pretty good shape for a woman my age) all of us here over 50 (some over 60) are having a hard time running around and being on our feet for 12 hrs every day.. except for morning break and lunch break.

So will check back when I can......

have a great Friday!!

Hi Gams - I see you are really busy at work.... what a nuisance! lol

How is the Kitchen makeover coming on? I do hope you are nearly there - you must be getting a little fed up of being in a "mess". I know I was, and mine only took a week!

Hope your Friday goes quickly, and your colleagues behave!

Hey, gamma. I saw your message on Levi's blog. We have been getting rain for the past 3 days as well, but you are right, some of Broward and Dade get heavy rain and other parts get nothing. The extreme coastal area from Palm Beach down to Dade has received the least amount of rain. It rains much more in the Central and west part of Broward. I live in Coral Ridge, right on the Intracoastal. The past few years have been the driest I can ever remember (and my memory goes waaaaaaaaay back.)

Hi everyone, very very busy at work this week...

no time to come and lurk or post!

more off and on showers the past 3 days.. not sure what we've gotten since noon yesterday.

I see Dade and Broward are still Green and now Palm Beach is at least Yellow...

wish central and north Fla could get some rain!!

Hope to check in tomorrow at some point...

Hi Jeff,

congratulations on your presention!
I loved doing presentations when I use to do them.. put me in front of an audience of I am happy! :O) Especially when I know what I am talking about! LOL
So many in the Corporate World get up and give presentations but they are not even sure what
what it is they are presenting.
Or if they even believe what they are saying

Today at lunch I dumped .65" from past 24 hours... and places have been getting rain
this afternoon once again.

We have like a 40% chance of rain every day this week..

The Rainy Season is in full swing in SE Fla!!

Hi everyone, really busy,,,, I was thinking it was Thursday all day...
but it is only Wednesday!!!! YIKES!!!

Just looked at moisture map and Dade & Broward Counties are still looking nice and green..
just wish some of this rain would make itself
into Central and North Florida.

It certainly rained over at the office. There was a good bit of red on the radar, and a few warnings that flew by.

Sorry your day was a waste..it's always annoying to have to "learn" from people who aren't as good as your team.
On the bright side, my presentation went well today. But I had to be up at 7 to be in the office by 8 to finish it off.

Well..off to watch the rain.

Actually... this was a big waste of time..
my team runs circles around this team I am here watching.. they are like the walking dead!

...and, right on cue..

The National Weather Service in Miami has issued a

* significant weather advisory for...
northeastern Broward County

* until 1030 PM EDT

* at 938 PM EDT... National Weather Service meteorologists detected a
strong thunderstorm near sunrise... and moving north at 15 mph.

* The storm will affect...
Tamarac...
Coral Springs...
Coconut Creek...
Parkland...
and surrounding communities.

The primary impacts will be frequent to excessive lightning and gusty
winds of 45 to 55 mph. Lightning is the number one weather related
killer in Florida. Trees and open shelters offer no protection. These
winds can down small tree limbs and branches... and blow around
unsecured small objects. Seek shelter in a safe building until the
storm passes.

Also... this storm is developing in an environment favorable for
funnel clouds.

Residents near the path of should remain on the alert for additional
statements and possible warnings.

Stay tuned to NOAA Weather Radio and other local media for further
details or updates.

Just saw a really bright flash of lightning, followed by thunder less than a second later.

It's a real light show out there. But I don't think it's raining. Just checked the radar..there's a section of red coming through my area. So maybe the rain is on its way.

It's going to be a long week for me, too. I got up early today so I could drop my car off on the way to work..bought four new tires. Expensive ones..my car takes low profile sports-car tires.

Tomorrow, I have to submit a slide deck by 9am for a new task..I get to report to our VPs on our project once a week now. But that means I'm going to have to be at work by 8am on Tuesdays to put the last minute details on the deck.

The rest of the week, I hope, is just catching up.

HI Jeff, I've been out and about all day just now getting settled in.. we got some thunder and sprinkles but not much more.

Guess what, I am on WU via Chrome finally!!!

They are still working on the problem loading photos.. but I have not tried again today...

This week is going to be terrible.. working 5 days.. tomorrow I must go into to "Observe and take notes" on A shift so I can implement LEAN on my Shift Wednesday.. and this is my long week anyway.

But I will survive.

We bought our new microwave today and got the hardware for the cabinets... we ended up with the dark metal instead of silver.. we tried both and the darker metal just looked better.. and it is through out our house anyway...

As soon as we get a sample piece of our granite and they are suppose to drop us off a piece this week.. we can go ahead and order our back splash tile...

The granite should get installed next week...hopefully MOn, Tue or Wed because I will be out of town the rest of the week .

I am loving the color in the walls.. well only 1 wall painted so far...but it looks great..

Still a lot to do because there are always "gaps" of time inbetween the different people coming in to do their thing...

I doubt I get to spend much time on my desk computer tomorrow...but I will try to log on Wednesday...

YOu all have a good week!
and don't worry If I don't get on tomorrow..

Raining a bit on the drive home today - I saw lightning! Afternoon thunderstorms can't be too far in our future.

That means it's time for me to stock up on hurricane supplies..I need to do a bunch of shopping this weekend.

Good morning

Ylee, thanks already done a lot of yard work this morning with hubby and this afternoon I am plopping into the pool and resting.

BF, thank you so much!!!

Hi everyone,

Painter is here and he finished the ceiling and now putting on the wall color.

Went with a very very pale green..very creamy and light..since it is covering all of the living areas I did not want anything really loud or bright.

Hubby and I trimmed two trees in back.. one was a small one... the other was one of the Japanses Fern Trees... still have the really big Japanese Fern Tree to do next weekend...

Must get this yard all trimmed up soon because once the rains come with our summer heat, everything grows like crazy down here and ou cannot keep up.
At leaset all the garden needs to go into rainy season well trimmed back...

We are expecting temps in the low 90's this afternoon so if that does not scream pool I dont know what else does!

You all enjoy your day.

That Super Moon is already a beautiful site rising from the East here in SE Fla.
My camera just does not take good night sky pictures...

I don't see how it is going to get even more beautiful at 11pm when it is over head but they say it will.

In honor of this Super Moon I have two songs I am going to try and post here... I did it on FB..
not sure I know how to do it here.

First is Van Morrison, Moondance.

Pros, thank you very much. I owe this organization a lot.

Rob, LOL I guess I was being a tease there.. I would never have been caught dead in a bikini even 2 yrs ago before I lost the 18 lbs in last year and half.!!!
Thanks!!

Skye, thanks, I am amazed every year how generous people are with their donations to MOD>

Scott, thank you for always being one of the supporters! That is right you are already seeing that "Super Moon"... I hope I get to see it but I have a feeling I will be asleep by then.

I am already getting very tired.

I am Pooped. After that 3 miles this morning and a few hours of yard work and pool work.. and a little sun burned..
I am calling it a day.. going to just rest now..

The painter is here painting our new ceilings.. they look so good...So Harley and I will be banished to the Master Bedroom...

So I may not get back here to computer very often...

Enjoy your Saturday!!!

Great job Patti!!! Thanks for all you do for the MOD.

Tonight will be the brightest full moon this year, supposedly 30% brighter than normal.

It sure is. The moon came up a few hours ago and it just got dark a little while ago (It is 9:40 P.M.).

The sky has cleared for the moment and the moon is extremely bright and large. It has been cloudy and on-off rain all day so it is nice to see this.

I just submitted two more tickets.
It is the 5th ticket for 5th day I cannot get on my own blog via Chrome... they still have not fixed that problem... I must use IE..

and I cannot load photos because
but it will not let me because the "location" is not working...
and if you try to load them without the location it will get kicked back that you must have the location..
but the Location "find" is not working...

this is really getting frustrated...someone in WU Tech Support needs to fix these problems...

it is not me and my lack of knowledge this time.

back for a minute.

Ylee, it was a mess. I did get it all cleaned up last night and shocked it and ran the pump all night.
Today it looks much better but I am going to pressure clean the tiles and spa and steps... going light with a pressure cleaner much easier and does a better job and brushing the entire pool.

Sandi, Thanks you, We did good this morning. But it was really hard on me.. I ran 3 miles twice (2 days in a row) about 2 weeks ago but in the past week or so I have not done any workouts.. so I was hurting this morning.

Karen, I understand busy. I have not been out on blogs this weekend or last weekend either.. barely keep up with my own... when I could get on my own blog! I know you all have your own charities you participate in and give to. We cannot give to every charity our friends are involved with.. Between Stacey's customers and our friends, we would be broke. So we pick a few each year and try to be consistent with those.

Shore, thank you so much for your support. Actually we ended up with $1,020.00 so that is fantastic!
The weather was perfect this morning, mostly sunny and temps still in the upper 70's when we got there..now suppose to get in mid-uppper 80s this afternoon.. thank goodness the run is early in morning.
This is a very big event in Broward County, it grows larger and larger every year. There are a lot of big Corporations from this county there with their employees.. a lot of Corporate Sponsors.. then there are the "family teams".. we are a "family team" that consists for the last 4 yrs of me and hubby.
Most probably 90% walk the 3 miles.. heck I doubt most even walk more than 1 mile.. many just come for all the festivities.
There are tents and foods and activities for kids etc.
We just go , turn in our money and paperwork and do the run then leave. We rarely get Saturday off so we have a lot to do today.

So I am going to try again to load my photos here on WU... I hope the "glitch" is over by now..
I don't understand why they make it so hard... Why is it mandatory to put in the location? especially since when that does not work you cannot load pictures.. is anyone else able to load photos here today???

going to try again....

Then I must get outside..it is beautiful today and I want to spend it cleaning the pool/deck area.

Gamma! Today's your big day! Congrats on meeting - no, exceeding your goal. I knew that would happen. It was such fun seeing the photos from other years - you've been so faithful in supporting this cause.

I hope your weather's great - 77 and partly cloudy sounds pretty good, although I'm sure you wish it was a touch cooler. I suppose it depends on the humidity. We've been really humid this past week - annoyingly so!

Glad to hear about your visit with Beachie, etc, too. Even though I "know" how big (long) Florida is, it always surprises me when I hear how long it can take to get from one place to another!

Hi Gamma - Sorry I haven't been around in so long. I've only been in my own blog for nearly a month now (I'm scolding myself!).

Congrats on your fundraising, I'm so very proud of you! I wish I could have contributed too but my niece did a walk for the American Cancer Society and my daughter does a walk for the Cystic Fibrosis Society, and they occurred within a month of each other.

I know you'll do well and I know you'll run the whole 3.1 miles. Since I just did our 5K, I'm impressed. We ran/jogged the last .5 mile and it just about did me in. Give me a pool, or let me walk and I'm fine, but running is just no longer in my genes!

Congrats my friend!

Gamma, pools are a lot of work! I have a 16ft above ground pool, and I probably put a couple of hours a week keeping it shipshape! Do the kids appreciate the hard work? Probably not until they have to take care of their own pool, lol!

I hope the ceiling turns out well!

Ylee, it is about a 10 hour drive from SE Fla to the Panhandle.. Tallahassee was a 6.5 - 7 hr drive..
Hubby did not want me doing the 10 hr drive both ways by myself.. plus that would mess up one day to party!! LOL But you know I cannot get a direct flight there without going thru Atlanta or Charlotte! Well no reasonable priced direct flight!
And yes you are probably closer to Destin than I am!

Sandi, When I was home at lunch I still could not get on my own blog via Chrome... but I can from IE.. but maybe now even the Chrome issues are resolved.
I may leave early today... I have some things I really need to do while there is daylight outside.

After all that rain earlier this week and the week before.. I never took care of my pool after the first rainy weekend and now it is almost a greenish color and needs a lot of work to get it sparkling again. I need to vacume all the leaves out, then brush the walls.. then shock it with cholorine and clean the pump and filters...
then tomorrow doing it all over again ..

I really need to get it started this afternoon in case at some point Sunday or Monday we may want to use the pool...

Thanks for stopping by...

Hi, Gamma! It appears that everything's getting back to normal! I was curious as to why you would fly to Destin, but then I realized Destin is on the Panhandle! Heck, I don't have Google maps handy, but I'll bet I live closer to Destin than you do!

Hope the rest of your day goes by well!

Hi Sandi,

I did check in and I see you stop by!!!

Yes I am at work today..
This is the "short" week and tomorrow we are taking off to do the March of Dimes 5K run.
So this week only 2 days 12 hrs each 24 hrs..

Now next week is my "long week" Wed - Sat, 4 days @ 12 hours a day (or more)...
Plus
I must come in on Tuesday to observe the front end of the week on a project..

so next week I will work 5 days @ 12 hrs each...for a 60 hour week...
That will kill me!

but I am following that up the next week (short week) with a trip to Destin, Florida
to visit some of our WU friends..
Foxx & SugarSand live there, Code may come in that weekend.. and AllyB is driving in for the day. I am staying with BeachFoxx ...
So excited!!! Had my airline tickets for months now!! Got some fun things planned.

It may seem like I am off work a lot
but I put in the hours when I am here...

Me and many other "senior" employees who have been here for 20 or more years..
and all of us over the age of 55.. that work in this dept...
cannot wait for them to lay us all off.. and we will get our severance packages..and officially "retire" from here..
then find something to do that we actually enjoy! LOL

There are issues going on here on WU..
I know the problems I have here with my Chrome, someone on Dr Masters blog says they are having issues with their FoxFire...

and this place is not updating...

so WU technical support is having a lot of issues and not just with me..

got to go.. more problems here at work...

Hi Gams, Wu is playing silly beggars and not updating the list, so you will not know I have left a comment unless you look!

Did you say you had Friday off? I don't know, you are never at work!!! lol
Have a wonderful "whatever" :)

Jeff, it is still a problem when I use Chrome... I hope they can fix it because at home I do like Chrome better..it does things IE does not do.

Scott, I missed all of you too!!!

I don't know why my MOD's badge in my header is not updating.. we have now raised $1,010.00!!!!
We are over our goal!!!! YEAH!!

now I must get out the door for work... will sign on later.

I still have problems on your blog (and only your blog!) about half the time with Chrome. No problems with Explorer. You're not crazy.

Beautiful day today. I would have gone for a nice walk at lunch, but my foot still hurt. Two weeks ago I managed to have a 40-50lb wooden box dropped on it. I had it x-rayed..no breaks..podiatrist says to just wear my Tivas for a week or two. I tried to put my work shoes on the other day, and it still hurt. So..I have to take it easy.

Oh..since I'm here..First!
