I made another trip to the ER yesterday. While working on a flag for the Queen's lighthouse I was using a Vicegrip. The thing slipped and either hit my thumb or caught it between the handle. One mark was on the nail and the other in the quick. I think i have a new pain to compare when the doc's ask me compared to your worset pain how does this conmpare. I soaked the thumb in ice water which gave temporary relief but when out with the Queen the heat made the pain unbearable. I asked her to take me to the ER where they used a rather crude meathod to release the preasure. A paper clip heated over a lighter to pierce the thumbnail and blood came rushing out. The ER fdoctor examined the humb and said I was kucky I didn't burst a vien leading to the thumb. I still have to give the thumb an occasional squeeze to stop the blood buildup under it. I guess the rat poison is working.
I've promised the Queen no projects today. :)
I'll have my family doctor check it out tomorrow when I visit him again.

Seems like a pretty crude way for a doc to relieve the pressure of blood build up under the thumb nail. Usually they just do it with a fine scalpel. I hope you are soaking it in proxide to keep the infection at bay.
Take care dear one, stay cool and be careful. If your like me, when I have something sore, I keep banging it unintentionally....
You have every bit of sympathy I can whomp up! Have a good evening!
