A quiet day on the prairie yesterday. Withe balmy temps I got Abbey out for her free run along the gopher trails. I caan't beleive the temps we here on the prairie have been experiencing. Usally January brings -40 temps and not the above freezing temps we've had.
I was goung to do more work on the air nailer case and the call of nature light but spent the afterrnoon working on the webcam which has been giving me problems the last couple of days. It seems that when the sun rises the display goes white. I was hoping that the cam hadn't died but downloaded the free version of Advanced system care, checked the reviews on it and ran it. When it was completed rearranging the registry, correcting errors there and checking for errors on the hard drive the cam came back to life. I then tried the app on the Queen's laptop hpopeing it would fix a registry error which doesn't allow a default printer to be set but no luck there. It looks like I'll have to back up there registry and manually edit it hopeing the answer to the problem I found on the web will fix it for the Queen. At At present she can't print a PDF document without an error saying no printer installed. To print it for her I have to transfer the document, via my home network, and print it from my comp. A real pain in the butt as he usally wants something printed when I'm busy doing something else. I wish I could teach her how to use the network but she won't touch my computer for fear of messing it up.
Reading the local news web page I saw there's a 14 year old girl missing.
I'll copy the story from Portageonline.com and include it now.

I echo Mush's sentiment in hoping that this poor troubled girl is found safe or out of harm's way very soon! It's sickening how many male predators are out there both in North America, or in the world, and use these troubled desperate gals to meet their own perverted ends!
We woke up to an arctically cold (at least, for us) 8F degrees this am, and it's currently risen to a balmy 12F. Thankfully, this cold snap looks to be gradually ending before week's end and our Saturday outlook is for near 50F degrees in the daytime. Well, Groundhog Day is only 29 days away and spring officially arrives in just 76. That's my idea of thinking ahead on a positive note. LOL!
In the meantime, hope you all stay warm and well during La Prairie's frigid winter temps!
I still wish I had your computer savy and knowledge to fix problems that crop up. It's going to cost me a bit to have an outside tech fix my main harddrive's front USB port and portable hard-drive. I'm rather clueless on the intricacies of certain technical problems.
Froze my butt off yesterday but it seems to be a bit better today, tomorrow will be better still then Fri we should be in the mid 40s again. Whooo Hoooo
Here is a bread recipe you might like to try, its easy to make and tastes oh so good. Its also good for you...
Oatmeal Bread
Makes 1 loaf
2 1/2 to 3 cups bread flour
1/2 cup oats (old fashioned or quick-cooking)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 envelope FLEISCHMANN'S QuickRise Yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/4 cups water
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
Directions
In large bowl, combine 1 cup flour, oats, brown sugar, undissolved yeast, salt, and cinnamon. Heat water and butter until very warm (120 to 130oF). Gradually add to dry ingredients. Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of electric mixer, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in enough remaining flour to make soft dough. Knead on lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic, about 6 to 8 minutes. Cover; let rest 10 minutes.
Roll dough to 12 x 7-inch rectangle. Beginning at short end of each rectangle, roll up tightly as for jelly roll. Pinch seam and ends to seal. Place, seam side down, in greased 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan. Cover; let rise in warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 50 to 60 minutes.
Bake at 375oF for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on wire rack.

I use the paid version of ASC on my computer, and I think it does a pretty good job. Dunno why the printer wouldn't print off her computer.
Glad you're having some warm temps so Abbey can get her romps in. Take care!
I always hate to see a missing teen or child. Hope she is found soon, found safe & healthy.
