I'm envious of people who have old photos of themselves and other loved ones to look at from time to time and reminisce. I have absolutely no photos of my childhood or even of my children when they were young. All of the photos that exist of me and my family from when I was a kid and growing up, are at my parents house, stored away in boxes, bins and drawers, to be distributed one day at the appropriate time, when I can be entrusted with them. The pictures and videos of my children were lost in a divorce and I have no chance of seeing any of those, that's a fact I've come to accept. It's sad on both fronts. I'd like to be able to page through them all and feel the feelings, love the love, remember the memories that they would evoke. Christmas time is a wonderful time. A time to enjoy your families and make memories that should last. Just remember to remember very well, because you may not get the negatives to remind you of the positives. It'll get better, I know. Have a great weekend all!!!

Lots of familiar folks around I see and lots I've never heard of. Debbie and I are doing just fine,....no, actually quite well. We're enjoying an energy jobs boom here in South Texas with the development of the Eagle Ford Shale formation. My employer's company has grown exponentially of late and there's no end in sight. Booms are just that though, spurts of activity, prosperity and monies spent. But right now it's going gang busters. One day it will all level out...

Finally, we've come out of the drought here in South Texas. After almost two years of exceptional drought conditions the rains have been really, really nice. Some people around here are a little crabby about the mud and "cold" temps but I'll not be the one to complain. Hopefully the Spring will bring with it wildflowers we've not had in two seasons. I may get to plant things to replace the stuff I lost. I'll be more selective this go round to choose more toleran...

Thank God for some nice wet weather today. A great part of Texas is relieved from exceptional drought conditions. Still, there are areas around here in South Texas suffering exceptional and extreme drought conditions and water tables are low even where the surface looks green. I got .5 inch today and I am elated. Come on Ida, we'll take ya.

img src="" alt="" />WONDERFUL!!! We got about a half inch of rain today. I am ecstatic!! That may not seem like much to some folks, but considering our "official" year to date rainfall is at 4.99" against a normal average of 21.64" at this point annually, to get any rain at all is beyond being well and good. I will say Hallelujah and hallelujah again!! Some places right near to me have gotten some really good soaking rains of 4 and 5 inches and for them I am gla...
