Hi Sandi, yes, Fernanda is about 1,000 miles offshore to the southeast of us...and yes, Greg has turned! Hopefully, we will get some rain but not too much wind. We could use a good soaking...very dry here on the leeward side and there have been some brush fires recently. I bet you are glad to see the sun again! That is a lot of rain and greyness...sounds like the summer San Francisco has had this year.

I think the video is real, Wab...a man and his son from Oahu shot it off Hapuna Beach recently. Not sure what kind of equipment they use when they go out so I don't see what you are seeing. The beaches were closed after they spotted the shark while spear fishing. I was there about a week later and a helicopter patrol spotted another shark in the same location. There have been shark sightings on the Kona coast too and a surfboard chomped on. Fortunately, no one injured or worse.
