Although we as a species are a curious lot, being nosy is generally an unwelcome trait! Be it the little old lady across the street that reports the style or size of the underwear that's hanging on your clothesline to all her friends, or the IRS agent that calls and asks to bring the past seven years' of returns to his office, nosiness is almost universally scorned.

An exception is the world of webcams. Just who are those people feeding the deer and squirrels? What are they doing on the beach at Akitio? It's near freezing at Denali, and that woman's wearing shorts! Is she nuts? The cams tempt us all to become nosy. This is acceptable, because (1)the spied-upon people are unaware or don't care about us, and because (2)we don't come in contact with them.

This go-around, we can be nosy at the beaches of Nosy Be, a small island off the NW coast of Madagascar!

Quoting traumaboyy:
Saved the pic....but I don't remember how to upload it..lol...I know Ylee told me how to six months ago but that sure does look like Oscar!!

You need to load the saved picture into WU photo galleries as a portrait, and then you can post it into the blog. I use right click, copy url and then use the image tab above the comment box to post it, although there are other ways.

Good morning Ylee. Just did a blood test and not much change from yesterday and I was exceptionally good too. Guess its the way it goes sometimes, anyway, going this morning to get that test done for when I see doc on Tues. Could be why I have been feeling so crappy most of the summer, may need to adjust my meds to compensate.

One good thing, its not as cold as yesterday. That extra 10 degrees sure helps alot and today's temps are more normal for us this time of the year hovering around the 70F mark. Anyway, have a great morning. Will drop by later to check the cams again once daylight comes around.

Ylee, since you're working on a new blog, this will probably be the last update on the Sisters Pole Creek fire. It does look like they're starting to bring this one under a bit of control, although it still has high growth potential.

Current Situation
Total Personnel 1,212
Size 24,392 acres
Percent Contained 40%

Fuels Involved
Timber (litter and understory). Mature timber with significant dead and down, bug killed timber.

Fire Behavior
Active fire behavior, mostly interior.

Significant Events
Completed burnout on Div A/B. Continued mop-up and som rehabilitation. Need most of the current resources to ensure completion of mop-up, patrol, and rehabilitation.

Outlook
Planned Actions
Continue mop-up on all divisions. Line preparation shoulod be completed by next shift. Looking at options to keep fire in check on west side, Div A/B.

Growth Potential
High

Terrain Difficulty
High

Remarks
Temporary Flight Restriction expanded to the south to include the Helibase at Mt. Bachelor. Fire spread has been stopped outside of the Three Sisters Wilderness, but continues to spread within the wilderness. Increase in acreage due to interior growth contained by natural barriers within the Three Sisters Wilderness.

Good morning Ylee. Guess I beat you to the blogs this morning. Going to grab a coffee, take my meds then head back to bed for a bit. Nice to see Friday here again. A few chores here around the house today otherwise a quiet day for me. Have a great day dear one. Try not to work too hard.

As Arnold would say.."I'll be back"

Good morning! I'm a little cheesed at WU this morning; when I do my avy switch, I now have to switch from Classic to NUWU in order to make the switch! :P I much prefer classic, as the cams are shown full size in Classic on IE6, and not NUWU!

Will try to expedite the new blog today; hopefully I can get it done!

Hi, bug! The Sisters cam looks ominous with that smoke! I can't imagine what it's like to be a firefighter down there!

Thanks for the updates, Briar! It sounds like the terrain will play a hand at keeping the fire under control. I would imagine the firefighters will let the fire burn itself out in some places.

Wab, I think the trees start tuning colors in mid-to-late October. I'm not holding my breath for any color this year, as half the time the leaves go directly to brown! :(

Okay, Arnold, er, Alley, hopefully there will be a new blog waiting on you when you return! :)

I just re-read your intro about being nosey. My wife has no interest in what other people are doing, saying, or watching in our home circle - BUT - let us get in a campground and she would like nothing better than a webcam in every campsite. She absolutely has eagle eyes and elephant ears. Strange things abound.

First deer I've seen feeding in a very long time. There are/were 2 there @ 10:30!

All the othere cams looking good except for the sisters cam seems to be down. Hopefully not because of the fire.

I'm having problems with WU also. It keeps telling me running scripted will slow & stop my computer. Don't know how to correct that. It does it on LT and DT.

Well I am back peeking at your blog, did not get up until noon, best sleep I have had in a long time even if it was from 6:30AM to noon. A pleasant 68F out with a light breeze, true fall weather even if its not officially here until tomorrow. Leaves are beginning to change so by the time our Thanksgiving rolls in, they should be in full color. I like the fact that we have an early holiday when the weather is still pleasant enough to enjoy the outdoors and harvest feasts.

Good luck with your new blog.

Good afternoon. I'm busy being lazy and goofing around on the internet. It's my day off but it's either this or nap.
