I have been busy and haven't had much time to start a new garden blog. It seems like I am always doing something with the kids and I know it will only get worse as they get older. Between music lessons, swim lessons, golf lessons, other sports or just having friends over or going over friends. And of course my time on the golf course. :)
My garden was just ok this year. My cucumbers died early. I got about 100 from my 10 plants, but that isn't nearly as many as past years. My tomatoes are doing well. This year I planted a bush tomatoe plant. Wow, is it sturdy and has been giving some great medium to large size round tomatoes. My potatoes are about to die off and then I will dig them up.
I let my beets go a bit long, but that is OK. I don't mind preparing large beets. I boil them and then put them in a bowl with sliced onion and vinegar. Mmmmm
The carrots are really good. I picked just a few. I don't thin out the plants when they come up out of the ground. I think you get more that way.
My peppers are doing well. I have so many Hot Cherry Peppers and Jalapenos. I think I will pickle them.
