A little break in the weather across Japan today following yesterdays soaker that dropped nearly 200mm in central Japan. Although this brief break will end through Friday as a small disturbance pushes across much of northern Japan. The Western Pacific has some of the Most Destructive Storms in the World, this video breaks down the Top five most intense typhoons according to pressure in recent history.

What comes away interesting from this list though is that even due to global warming all these occur in the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Likely due to the fact Recon aircraft was available at the time. I wonder if recent storms would...

Indonesia has been practicing the act of cloud seeding for several years now, there goal to increase rainfall in drought stricken areas and fight forest fires across Sumatra and Borneo.

For those who are not sure of what cloud seeding is here is a quick explanation from Wikipedia.
