Training boomers here.
By getting her to come along!
Easy!
Pictures later.
'Twas a Diamond Day.
With a nice kingfish for dinner.
Have one boomer going North, and one boomer going South.
Hope they don't meet right over my house. :)
Looks Like!
Good for you my friend!
Sounds Yummy!
I'll take pot's dinner:) I cheesed out with grilled cheese, tomato soup & some raw cucumbers.
That doesn't sound half bad either!
Angie leaves tomorrow for a week so Cappy will be locked in his cabin for the rest of the night.
(don't knock unless somebody is bleeding!)
Carry on!
- and finally listen to anything I want on your blog.
"Ragland" just winding down now.
Burp !
'scuse me...
Kingfish was yummy, with fried rice and a salad.
The North Coast was as pretty as could be today, calm, clear.
Nice view of the Spanish Main from down there, about 6 miles.
Tide was just about low and falling fast so current through the Bocas was strong.
Caught the fish behind Chacachacare island, then went into La Tinta bay to swim and eat.
Lots of Hawksbill nests on the beach.
Gotta have this one :)
I hope everyone is doing well.
Let there be ROCK! !!!!!
And now for something completely different from a long time ago!
Roll your bones out of bed and hit the showers
We have places to go, people to see, and things to do
Rob - hit the road headed for the airport
Pottery - get that Honey-doo list out and prioritize
Shep - oh yeah, you are now retired like me
Ylee - tote those bags, lift those bales
HUP TWO THREE FOUR, HUP TWO THREE FOUR
OK, hit the ground running
Remember what happened to the Dinosaurs!!!
I repeat, "Don't let this one get stuck in your head"
:)
Admission is free.
Good Morning. Thanks for the tunes and stuff.
Gotta start getting my act together.
Taking the big car. Gotta check oil & stuff, get it loaded, run through the check list, and eat something.
I'm gonna need more coffee.
NO! NOT THAT.....
In fact, due to an errant error emanating early, I seem to have misplaced the document.
It's lost and gone, forever.
So, during our regular meeting over breakfast, there will be a New List created.
But I will ensure that there are a diversity of distractions, dark alleys of doubt, diversions and do-not's on my part during the discussion.
A man has to be proactive, at times.
It's the Survival Instinct, as you know.
Wish me Strength, Fortitude and Stuff.
These plans can often result in Nasty Surprises.
Cranked up the grill added water bath and applewood chips. By 0640 the Pork shoulder was on and smokin. Should have the 7 lb beast ready by 1800. Carolina rub. Looks like nice shoulder. Add a little vinegar slaw and rice and away we go. Grill is about 205 - 235. Hard to keep it steady.
Passing showers. Rigged a Beach Fly to keep the thermo probes dry. About two and half hours in and temp up to 110 F.
I have the Knife.
Hang on, I won't be long......
"Wish me Strength, Fortitude and Stuff."
That's an easy one.
We wish you Strength, Fortitude and Stuff."
And because Rob sent me my "afternoon shower" 45 minutes ago, I'm off the boat project and headed straight for the guitar for some rainy day tunes. :))
Appreciated !
All is going well, although the heat index is 99f, and I am drinking hot coffee.
Son came by, with a group of people and a truck-load of cameras, to film a young man cutting head-high grass with an old-fashioned 'swiper' which is a cutlass on a long handle.
This for a project/documentary he is working on for Gov. Propaganda (and to be fair, in Celebration of our Olympic athletes ahead of London).
The story is, that one of our first medalists was a weight lifter, and he said that he learned to lift when he was 12 years old.
His father kept goats, and every morning and evening he would have to go and cut a huge bundle of grass, clean and jerk it to his head, and walk 2 miles home....
Then, it was considered "growing up".
And Men were Hard.
Now, it would be considered "abuse".
And Men are sorely lacking.
I'm also beat.
Traffic was horrendous!
So, I'm gonna have to chill out for a bit.
Will read up on all your adventures a little later.
Thanks for keeping an eye on the place guys, and for keeping the tunes spinning.
That's OK.
You can take a few hours off.
But we expect you to be back this evening....
Playing songs like "leaving on a jet plane" and whatnot and stuff, with mournful orchestration.....
heheheheheh, just pulling your Hoof, Hood.
Take care!
Give me a few days before I have to get mournful okay?
Angie called. She landed safely at the destination, where her sister is picking her up. Flight was good except for a lot of turbulance says she.
Sounds like some good eating going on.
Had some chicken salad and crackers.
Hey, it was quick, easy, and only one bowl to clean.
Oh...and Shep, I didn't send that rain.
Don't recall you asking of it.
I only wish for what is asked for.
This morning, we get in the car and pull out of here at 10:25. Figured 10:30 would be plenty early even if traffic was jammed up on I-4. But I told her 10 because I always add a half hour just to make sure we get out the door on time. Well, we did...barely. 1st order of business was to fill the gas tank. Well, naturally gas went up this week. I stopped at $40.00 because I figured it was plenty and watching all those $$$ spin by was beginning to damage my calm.
Got in the car. Didn't even get out of the lot before she whips out a bottle of polish and begins painting her toes.
What?
You can't do that!
Of course I can, I'm a professional!
Yeah, and if I hit the brakes your gonna paint a professional stripe all the way to your ankle.
Then drive smoothly!
Okay...I just shut up and watched the road.
Well, somehow, whether attributed to my skill or hers, or a combination, she completed the task...without any stripes or other incidents. The leather seats survived unscathed.
Anyway...I told her I was gonna tell everybody on the blog that she was riding down the road painting her toenails red. That is when I was informed that it was not red...it was coral. Well, see...this is exactly why I don't do the claw paint shopping around here.
I joked about posting "leaving on a jet plane" on the blog, but told her that I wasn't going to post that. It's one of those things that I really don't want stuck in my head.
If someone else wants to post it...Okay. Just not one of my favs. However, if lamentations is what Pottery wants, I'll see what I can do.
Here's one for starters.
I lamented mournfully!
Now...the sun is setting. My favorite time of the day.
Then I need to feed the pets.
Back later.
Some good Music there, thanks.
And I agree about the 'leaving on the jet plane'. Not one I sing along to!
Anyway, have a good time !
Then maybe I'll actually go to bed at a reasonable hour.
So, with that in mind,
some ni-night music.
Take your pick!
Good night and rest well my friends.
Oh, almost forgot.
65. RTLSNK
Still feel kinda bad for those guys, but they kept eating the other passengers.
The Ultimate Lullaby !
"Didn't even get out of the lot before she whips out a bottle of polish and begins painting her toes.
What?"
No, I shouldn't......but
At least she was not driving this time Rob :)
Edit: better version....
Since some of us are bachelors for a bit )me included(, I found this appropriate :P
A 10 minute version of Little Wing is just what I need to go with my coffee today!
Oss,
I knew a girl in high school that could get dressed, do her hair, and make up, while driving to school. (don't try this at home kids) Speaking of can't drive 55. Getting off 417 onto I4 then 27 was rough. Lucky I didn't get busted.
I read the "How To" and found a musician but saw no need to embed because all I got was adverts on my search. Here's the fellow I was thinking of from Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_Harper
Any particular Roy Harper tune you are looking for?
Pause.
Sheesh! now raining seriously here and I'm distracted with thoughts of my latest unfinished complex roof absorbing water as we speak.
Roy Harper:
"Loud and clear is the call
In black and white upon your wall
And Dammit all, Man
Can't you see?"
I have no idea what the title is but one can not go wrong listening to this guy. As Led Zeppelin recorded:
"Hats Off to Roy Harper"!
The Same Old Rock
And the lyrics
All along the ancient wastes the thin reflections spin
That gather all the times and tides at once we love within
That build the edges round the shrouds that cloud the setting sun
And carry us to other days and other days to one
And full the single stillness of the mirror that is made
By each and every one of all the colours in a shade
Inside each eye is sitting like the sword inside the blade
And longs for once upon a chance to open love's cascade
For here we stand – hand to hand
Fighting for the Promised Land
And you try to tell me with consternation
That you have found me a brand new lock
Then you try to warn me that there's only one combination
One new sling – the same old rock
There is a famous straggler stood on the edge of time
Who held the staff but did not feel the pain
He multiplied the mystery with utterance sublime
And crossed his heart for those who died insane
His friend a restless mouthpiece 7000 years of age
Trends to flash a face to shape his ways
Everlasting light is burning bright inside his cage
He's only got to breathe to fan the blaze
Such a groove to have him here on-board Her Ladyship
The man who makes his living out of bed
Such a gas to see him flying through his ceaseless lip
One day, someday soon, he'll lose his head
And withering in the galleries with eyes fixed on the door
Are who and you and me and thanks a lot
And those who see but cannot stand to walk on any floor
For fear that good is something bad is not
But loud and clear is the call
In black and white across your wall
Damn it all, man, can't you see
And you try to tell me with consternation
That you have found me a brand new lock
Then you try to warn me that there's only one combination
One new sling – the same old rock
And his web site with a pretty good bio.
Now...hows that for service!
:o)
And now for the fishing report.
Today's report provided by Pottery.
Direct from Trinidad:
Some days are Diamonds,
Some days are Stone….
Today was Diamonds !
Outside Chacachacare looking East through the Third Bocas.
NorthWest point of Chac. The Spanish Main behind.
La Tinta bay to clean the fish, eat, swim.
Plenty Hawks Bill turtle nests on the beach.
Very nice Pottery!
Thanks!
Nice fish! That can't be Pottery holding it though.
Oh yes,
Speaking of Navigation:
Thank you for guiding us here Captain!
It is indeed!
That's how I look, sometimes...
Not a Blemish in the sky, and a nice warm breeze!
Good day for Painting....
Spent the morning applying a coat of Sanding Sealer to Studio floor. Going to pass a light sandpaper on it and one more coat.
Lady Pott moves in on Monday.
I have a job interview this coming week.
Have to replenish the coffers .
Reality really sucks. :)::
You are welcome, and really was no big deal. A couple quick google searches followed by a youtube search, some copy and pasting. I can't swear by the lyrics as they were just pasted there from a lyrics site.
Yep, that's Pottery. You can tell that he hasn't been lying about all the hard work he does.
Which brings me to:
Pottery,
Yeah, that working for a living bit sucks, but keeps your tummy under control!
Watch that sun though...been brutal lately!
Aye Aye, Skipper.
'tis as hot as a what's-it.
A large jug of lime-juice with a dash of Bitters is close at hand.
Keeps away the Scurvy, don't you know !
