Cold front was slowly making its way through southern New England rather quietly when all of a sudden around 2 to 3 pm the radar lit up.
And a line strong to severe storms crashed through our area and southern new england, causing major tree damage all around. One town not too far from me experienced straight line winds which took down trees and power lines and even flipped someones garage. We had minor tree damage here in Waltham.I had to dodge a few large branches sitting in the middle of the road as I went home yesterday.
So dry cooler weather settles in for us,with dewpoints dropping into the 50's.Humid weather returns Sunday and Monday, but then another front will dry us out for the end of next week.So the ridge sits out in the midwest baking those people and destroying crops.Get ready for rising food costs. While the ridge sits out there, fronts will alternately move through us keeping the heat periods short.

A poster board planted at the entrance of Earthly Delights Farm in late June advertised "Weed Dating," with a heart-stamped arrow guiding visitors to a sign-in table, where they were each assigned a number and invited to sample beer provided by a local brewer.
The farm is among a handful across the country offering an unconventional form of speed dating. Typically, speed daters meet at a bar or restaurant and switch conversational partners every few minutes, in hopes of finding someone compatible. With weed dating, this rapid-fire courtship takes place on the farm, with singles working together in the fields.
The payoff for their toil? A chance at romance.
