Sometimes you take a few days off and nothing happens in the news, sports or entertainment. Then there are some days off where all kinds of things happen.
First since this is a weather blog for the most part, our first TS.Not much of a storm, but Alberto formes. At this point a weak TS off the coast of SC and Florida, will eventually start moving off the Northeast. We have a very unsetteled pattern along the east coast and this TS will just add to the moisture already streaming northward, currently heavy rain moving in along the Del.,Penn.,NY coastline. All this will eventually move into New England late today and evening and stay showerey through midweek.
The Music world lost to big names,my favourite Donna Summer and Robyn Gibbs of the BeeGees. Was never a big fan of the disco music, but loved donna summers and the BeeGees. My listening history is filled with both. Both entertainers lost their battles with cancer. We will miss them and their music will always be around.
News=Major earthquake in northern Italy, major protests in Chicago during the Nato Summit

Tragic news about losing two more highly talented, legendary musical artists, particularly of our generation, to cancer in just days of the other. I feel so for their surviving family members and close friends. I can't imagine how the eldest Bee Gee member, Barry Gibbs, is holding up, especially, when losing his sole remaining sibling. Losing three younger brothers in just over two decades seems too much to bear. Thanks for posting one of my favorite all-time Bee Gee hit songs, "Massachusetts", from decades past in commemoration. So apropos!
Sadly, most news appears to get grimmer, in more ways than one, as we age and near senior status.
Hope you and the Mrs. were able to make the most of your three day long weekend. The weather couldn't have been more spectacular around here. Looks like more iffy weather is in the works this week. For now, it appears that T/S Alberto won't have much of an effect on us should it further materialize and head our way in an ENE direction or out to sea. My current chief concern, however, is Thursday's possible forecast for a t'storm. I have a dental hygienist's appointment scheduled that afternoon and wouldn't want to be trapped in a dental chair with electrically powered equipment near my mouth or any part of me! LOL! I don't know of anyone who'd enjoy cleaner teeth via a large lightning powered ZAP. LOL!
lol,you filled my mind with images of you in the dental chair as he's drilling and there is a loud clap of thunder,on second thought those on are too funny an image.
Sounds like more of a chance of thunder on Wednesday, not as much on Thursday.
