Destruction in Goderich

More images here: In Photos: Storm rips through Goderich, ON
Tornado came ashore Goderich, ON at 4:00 pm on August 21, 2011. Likely an EF-3 (F2 to F3 Canadian Fujita scale), the tornado tore across the main town centre in a community of population 8,000. One person was killed.
Following the numerous tornadoes in the United States, I'd like to know how residents typically deal with the aftermath, and in what ways volunteers and local residents can help. The relevance to Irene is this: given any hurricane landfall, there is always a risk for localized tornadoes. This posting could be a way to discuss options following a tornado for y'all (chainsaws? debris pick-up? medical help?) which you can send me a message about or alternatively post here.
Blessings to the communities of Puerto Rico, Hispanola, Cuba, Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina and Upper States in preparation for Irene.
(And in case anyone is wondering, no tornado hit where I live yesterday in S. Ontario.)
12Z GFS is pulling a 06Z NGP. Riding along the coast...
It is his tweet.
I just put it in there because everywhere I go, people ask about the show, and yes, someone one might have missed it.
Thanks Pat!!
Hey Pat!
Could you post the 40 frames loop of the PR radar
Insane this storm will not even be close to SFL it may not even rain.
Morning Levi! Good to see you online.

ALWAYS FOLLOW NHC/TPC FORECASTS FOR ALL WARNINGS REGARDING THIS STORM
Most definitely... once the new data gets digested tonight for the 00Z runs we'll see if the models were underestimating or overestimating certain features such as High / TROFS, etc...
TDWR High Definition Radar
Exactly, all these models are useless until we get data in them, 00Z runs will be very interesting tonight.
Have fun Levi!
That's wrong. The wind field's current projection would give South Florida tropical storm, maybe even hurricane conditions, as the local met here in WPB said.
Compared to the 00Z run the 12Z has a stronger TROF.
(hope this doesn't break the blog)
And I am on firefox 5.0
Thank you Levi, that was very helpful and educational.
Yes tonites 0Z runs and then tomorrows 12Z runs are going to be key. Thats why my decision day for Florida was Tuesday. There was no need to make any plans until then.
HA. It'll be a Category 3 hurricane over Grand Bahama Island when it passes to the east. That's not trollin' to me, brother. Grand Bahama is pretty close to South Florida.
...and weren't weather related, either...
How can you tell?
yes should be in 00z runs
