Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see we have had no clouds in the Sea for the past 24 hours.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera it looks like they too have not seen any cloudiness for the past 24 hours.
The fog seeing satellite is showing a rather heavy fog bank hugging the west coast of the Baja peninsula from around Abreojos north to central California this morning.
Looking at the Gulf of Tehuantepec I can see that they have not only seen several rather large thumpers move though the Gulf this morning Salina Cruz on the northern shore of the Gulf reported Gale force winds early this morning. They are forecast to diminish later today.
Taking a look now to see what’s cooking in our tropical kitchen today. Still sitting within the ITCZ/Monsoon trough is Bud. He was upgraded to a tropical storm around 3am this morning.
The current forecast is for Bud to start moving north today tracking parallel to the mainland coast until Thursday then hook a hard right and head toward Zihuatanejo as a cat 1 himicane. Friday and Saturday Bud will most likely drop in intensity and make landfall Saturday as a tropical storm. The influence of Bud will be from around Puerto Vallarta south to Acapulco.
I sort of like the name Bud. That’s a real masculine name for a himicane, not like Favio which will be our 6th named storm this season. Favio sounds like a male stripper. You’d expect Favio to be sort of a “swishy” sort of storm. We’ll see?
I digress! That’s what is going on in our tropical kitchen so looking now north to the west coast of America where at the top of this image I can see a wet cold front moving into Washington State this morning. This cold front and another due in late in the week will be responsible in part for the Temperature to dip along the coast as much as 10 degrees over the next 4 days. The other part of this equation is as that first cold front moves into the Great Basin high pressure will move east and low pressure will start to extend toward the coast.
Hopefully all this will sort itself out by the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. Right now it looks like after a gradual cooling down along the coast this week it will start to warm back up by this weekend. We’ll see?
Southern California will continue to see dense fog along the coast clearing later in the morning. It should be fair and mild in the southland today. Like the north state it will cool down until the weekend when the return of high pressure will bring a warming trend.
Looking now over to the southwest where the heat wave will continue thought tomorrow with temperatures in the Tucson area around 105 today.
Gusterly winds will return to the region tomorrow through Friday with temperatures moderating back toward seasonal averages as low systems move through to the north.
Well that’s what is gong on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence today the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies. Tomorrow and Wednesday strong southerlies
Today the central Sea will see moderate southerlies and tomorrow and Wednesday strong southerlies that should extend to just short of Loreto.
The southern Sea looks like light to moderate SW winds for the 3-day forecast period.
Temperatures will be in the high 90s to the low 100s today.
