GRAND MANAN, N.B.

Clear, clam, 4C, overcast, temp to rise near double digits with wet weather for tomorrow. Sunday weather forecast to return to similar today with next week a hopeful warming trend.

Many local travellers yesterday, trip nearly full coming and going, with many planning on the last trip as the trip of choice returning home. The local traffic steady for sure.

The seiner must have been successful last night, many trucks going by with fresh bait. The first landed for the season. Don't know how the lobster fishery doing at the moment, but good to see fresh bait into the system.

Rob off for volleyball overnight and games in Hartland tomorrow, returning tomorrow night. Emily has an engagement she must participate in Quispam, for the weekend.

Morning David, can only imagine as being on the water this morning. Can see a few of the boats hauling traps in the harbour. As I have mentioned this is at least a month sooner that what has been the 'norm', whatever that is in your business.

Did have a trajedy here this week, with the loss of one of the fisherman. A calm day, he had been having some problems with his hip 'giving out', story I have he was in the process of gafting the buoy, speculation is he went down and ended up overboard. Unable to swim, two guys abaord the boat had a hold of him, nearly impossible to haul a guy in over the side. Some help not far away, but by the time they managed to get him on the boat he was gone.

Admire your daughter's commitment, cost to get where she wants to go can be a burden for sure.

Fresh bait just up the road from you, don't know where it come from, but this time of year suspect from the Grand Manan Banks, just a short sail probably due east of your house.

Have a good one.

Morning CHUNKS, what little hint we had of sun in the offing well hidden at the moment, temp is on the rise. Great for the grass growth, will need a cow pretty soon to get it low enough to put a power mower through it.

Had a bit of time yesterday, after making the obligatory tour of CANDAIN TIRE, Garden Centres beginning to stock thier wares, even some purchases being made. Managed to resist the temptation as that is really Donna's domain and will be part of her excursions later on this month.

Graduation excercise gaining momentum, appears something akin to a wedding for expense and details, best place for me is too nod in hopefully the proper part of the conversation.

Did do the time, you are correct Emily is maintaing the time to the minute, how dare I think otherwise.

Have a good one. ROB

Dear Rob:

I thought as much - re: Em's driving. I don't think she would want to let go of her hard earned cash.

I am off to Fredericton to do my own graduation shopping - re: just for cocktail dress for ceremony. University graduation nothing like high school. The expense of that was beyond my imagination. The dress alone could have bought a small nation. :)

Anyway - have a great day.

Word. Chunks.
