Overcast, a slight draft from NW, just enough to move the flag on occasion, temp near the freezing mark, to rise into higher single digits. Similar conditions for the next couple of days. A hint of showers included for tomorrow and Wed.

GRAND MANAN V remains on the run, no official word on the status of the ADVENTURE. Indications are the shaft problem to be repaired before she will be released to be on the run again.

The ice season now officially closed, the place more than a little busy over the weekend. Folks of all ages getting a last chance till fall, has become a grand gathering spot as well as those on the ice. A grand success, the level of volunteerism remains one of the highlights for the good story and the commitment to make it work. The year will hard to duplicate with the MARS BAR Commercial and the NHL LEGENDS appearance, however am certain some fertile minds working on that concept for next season.

Dear Rob:

We have similar weather conditions. It is starting to over-cast a smudge, but it remains warm enough to work outside with just a hoodie. THE YARD BECKINS.

It is so inspirational to hear the stories about the rink. It is great that L'il Rob spends so much time there. You know where he is and he seems happy in doing it. The fisherman story is also a great one for inspiring all those who think they have nothing left to give. Wonderful! As usual, the Grand Mananers know how to do it up.

It is a good job that the Grand Manan V was not shipped off to parts unknown. Is she actually going to be on the run this summer, or is the big boat supposed to service all comings and goings to the island from now on? Someone asked me that the other day and I had no idea.

Well, must get to incase we do get a few showers. If I pick up the rake and then it starts I will honestly be able to say I was out there. :)

Have a great day. Word. Chunks.

Mornin Chunks, seasonal temps prevail in this part of the world, no snow cover, and good signs of things are in the improving mode weather wise.

Will attempt to get a picture of the brant when they are in the front yard, if I can remember how to post them. Phots are now all so nonchalant with phones having the capability, the regualr camera not thought of so much. Don't have a file on the computer to download at the moment.

The arena closing for the season main topic of conversation this morning, O woe is me seems to be the feeling. The ladies team have an 'away game' in Quispam this weekend, a first for them, much anticipation. Who whould have thunk it a couple of years ago, quite a story.

Rob here for ten hours or so over the weekend, mostly on the ice. He assisted the young group all season, he enjoyed the experience. Also quite an inspiration by one of the men, he lost his forearm in a fishing accident a few years ago. Last year he wouldn't come out as he would have had to ask for help to lace up his skates, this year brought his son to help him out. Of course the guys in the dressing room moved in not questions, anyway he plays goal, straps on his glove and has a hell of time, good also. On other occasions he plays out. The whole complex and the individuals quite an asset and inspiration to the community.

Have a good one.

ROB
