Ohio Valley Severe Weather on Friday? |

Fall is a transition season. From September to November we could see anything from snow to tornadoes. It looks like this Fall may be no different.
Friday a tornado touched down outside of Port William, OH. The tornado was associated with a quick moving squall line, which is usually how tornadoes are formed in the Fall. No warnings or watches were issued with the tornado because it was unexpected. Base reflectivity was unsuspecting, but rotation was apparent on storm-relative reflectivity.
This Friday
Severe weather may be possible on Friday evening with a strong cold front moving through the Ohio Valley.

There's not been a lot of talk about this system yet because there's a lot of uncertainty with every model run. What's definate is this storm will be dumping feet of snow in the Rockies, and will have enough vigor for a possible severe weather outbreak in the Plains. It's heading this way, it's just a matter of when it gets here, and how strong it is.
Timing is probably the biggest factor in our impact. If the front passes through overnight, we may have gusts with heavy rain. In the afternoon, it could be a classic severe squall line.
I'll update later in the week with more confidence on the track on this storm.
