SAFE HAVEN

ROFLMBO...yup that happens, did for me when I cut the lawn for the first time. Came in sat down after I was finished and couldn't move for about an hour. Sure sucks when you get older....LOL

Gotta get out and do some shopping today, not only for kitty food but will see about a new pair of spring shoes, want something I can just slip into but most of all, I want to see if I can get some fabric to cover my headboard. Time to refresh the bedroom. Next project will be to look for a new rug for in there and see about installation costs.

Will also pick up a gallon of house paint to do the front porch, its time....

Well I picked up some new curtains and a lovely brown and white fabric for my headboard. When finished it will look pretty darn good. I will probably end up getting a dark sand colored rug for the floor but till then the white will have to do.

Got the shoes I wanted for l5.00, picked up a few other things but when I get a chance, I still have to pick up a couple of bolts for my deck table. I also got my new hose sprayer so I can wash the siding on my porch.

Rained last night so not sure what to expect later. The front lawn needs cutting again so when it dries enough, I will try to go out and cut it. At least since the rain, my back is not as sore as it was yesterday. Had to sit down a few times at the store to rest my back while shopping. Did not get to go to all the places I wanted to because of it. Oh well perhaps another day. Just going to putter around the house today though.

Kitties are fed and happy so I think I will toddle off to bed again for a little while. Its Sat and I don't need to be up so early.

Good morning GG. Glad to hear you folks are getting the much needed spring rains. Lets hope summer does not bring on another drought. Yes everything here is lush and happy, the lawns perhaps a bit too much...LOL

Picked up a bunch of seed to toss into the ground once I get it worked up with my little tiller. Just waiting for a dry enough day to do that now and when I am feeling good. Also picked up 3 packets of morning glories to spread by the board fence. Love those as they are so simple to look after, sow, water and forget...enjoy the blooms. There are 3 different kinds this time, red, blue and white striped ones. Should make a nice show in that corner.

Picked up some lupins to toss in with a couple of packets of mixed flowers. Like those as its always a surprise what comes up and the variety of colors that show in summer.

Before I went to lay back down this morning, I peeked out my livingroom window onto the porch, Aleister, the grey and white yearling was poised on the railing looking as pretty as a picture and Nicodemus, the little solid black cat was laying on the carpet...since he is all black he is harder to see on the black carpet but when he turned those golden orbs towards me, he had me...what a cute little cat. They know where they will get fed and spoiled...LOL

Good morning Ylee...its a bit chilly out but I doubt we got any frost here. Just fed the outdoor babies and all is happy with them. This morning it was Aleister who was greeting me with his little dance. He sure is a cutie in his grey and white suit...LOL

Good morning dear friends. Looks like another windy and wet day for us but alas its the time for it. Just wish the wind would die down a bit, Temps are reasonable going up into the high 50s and low 60s today.

Kitties are fed, Miss Smudgie looks slimmer this morning, I have a feeling she has had her babies and boy was she hungry. Will have to watch to see where she goes so I can check on them...I love babies...Nico (Nicodemus) was doing his patroling of the front yard last night, looked like a beautiful black panther with a fluffy tail slinking around the cedars, did not see Aleister but I am sure he was not too far away either. My little black and white tuxedo cat that comes, I have named Bojangles...LOL At least my boys come dressed for dinner in their tuxedos...LOL Gotta love my babies....

Good morning everyone. Welcome to HUMP DAY...yup it Wednesday already and half the workweek is over. Bright and sunny here today and should warm up into the low to mid 60s. Wind has finally died down so yup, the lawn must get cut....Have a great day.

Got alot done this afternoon. Mowed the grass, trimmed back the weeping cherry so sunlight can get under it, cleaned that up, washed the front of the house down from the winter dirt and grime that accummulates, scrubbed it with a brush on a long handle with special cleaner then rinsed it all off with the hose. Sure looks better and I can see out of the windows better...got rid of the cobwebs and old leaves that seem to find a place to hide under the awning on the porch. All that is left now to do is to sweep the rug once it dries and then later on when it is warm enough, will paint the railing on the porch. It's due.

While I was in the garage to get the mower, I heard some little meows, yup I believe I have babies in there hiding...LOL Will wait a few weeks then go and see if I can find them. Miss Smudgie I think has had her babies....they should be gorgeous...

Anyway have a great Wednesday evening. I am pooped and will go to bed early tonite.

Well I could not have asked for a better day weatherwise to do some yard work yesterday. What a gorgeous day. Was in bed by 10 PM last night after a long hot shower to relax the tired bones, hence my being up at 5 AM this morning and not going back to bed after feeding the kitties. A little cooler today with temps hovering around the 60F mark. Tomorrow a bit cooler with a wet cool wknd on the way with temps around 50F. When oh when will be get some decent Spring weather....

Good sunny morning dear friends. Looks like my trip to the doc came on a cool but rain free day... Temps at the moment are around the 40 mark warming up to the mid 50s today. Tomorrow will be the cool one then the warm up starts for May...Next week at this time, we should be seeing those beautiful 70s again. Either way, the furnace will be turned off for the season. Will call around and see if I can get someone to come and check the central AC unit and top up the freeon for me. By the looks of things in TX, it could turn out to be a long hot summer. Best do it now before we start seeing real heat.

Well it turned into one of those days where you just go to bed and stay there. When I got to the docs, my BP was sky high so I decided to take the afternoon off and just look after me...slept a little, read a lot, and just rested. Certainly feel better now but hopefully over the next couple of days can start to feel more like my old self. Have a 12 hr fasting over Sunday night as I must go and get some blood work done on Monday AM. Nothing to eat after 9 PM. We will try our best....stomach permitting.

Cool tomorrow with temps only in the mid to high 40s, then the warm up will begin on Sunday with temps in the mid to high 50s. By the end of next week we will be seeing 70F again...Thank you MAY!!!

Well here it is, a little past midnight and I am up. Had a nap earlier so I may do some reading until I am ready to sleep again. All is quiet outside, no kitties at play on the front lawn.

Have shopping to do in the AM so I may not be around until noon so have yourself a great Wednesday everyone. Should be a nice day with temps in the 70s.

So much fun watching this container ship come into harbour on Ylee's blog. Been keeping an eye on the Ospreys as well. All in all a good day.

Temps were great, heat is now turned off, last month's bill is only 30.00. Can't complain there...LOL 81F here at the moment.

We were lucky we did not see any T storms as they passed through the area. Hope this continues for the rest of the week.

Good morning dear friends....LOL MUSH you have to come to the feeding dish or you don't get fed. Sorry no special delivery of Noms for you garage dwellers....LOL I get up at 4:30 and fill the dish on the porch for the morning serving then again at 4 PM for the evening snacks. In between you are on your own to chase mice, rabbit and other food sources in the neighbourhood.

Here I sit at 4:30 AM, temps at 63F, a line of T storms moving east just north of me so for now the rain has stopped. High humidity and calm out.

Will be out for a bit early this morning but hope to be back by 10 AM.

Well the visit to the LAB to see the vampires was successful. I was surprised how full the waiting room was when I arrived at 8:30. Good grief, luckily I was able to get in fairly quick with only a short wait. Went over to the restaurant nearby and had a nice breakfast after and took my pills. Now I am home ready to go for a good nap. Been up since 4 AM.

Hi Mass, it was not the nap or stuff like that I was worried about. My stomach has been acting up and if I let it go empty for too long, I start to get pain so I was more interested in getting it over with so I could eat something and take my diabetic meds. Anyway its over with now for another year I hope. Doc knows how hard it is to get me to go in for bloodwork...Next time he wants some, he can send a nurse to my home to take it if it has to be a long fasting one.

I must say though, breakfast was good for a change at the restaurant. Did not have to cook...LOL

Think I will go and have a nap now since I have been up since 4 AM. A couple of good hours should do a world of good.
