Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 8:44 AM CDT en Mayo 27, 2015

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Harris County in southeastern Texas...
northeastern Austin County in southeastern Texas...
southern Waller County in southeastern Texas...

* until 1045 am CDT

* at 843 am CDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Katy... Sealy... Prairie View... Brookshire... Bellville... western
Addicks park ten... Hockley... Waller... Pine Island... San Felipe...
Pattison... Cypress... Monaville and Cat Spring.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated... or
ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
It takes only a few inches of swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles
away.

issuance of a Flash Flood Watch through the remainder of this
morning.

* An additional 1 to 3 inches of rain is possible within the
watch area with these storms... . with locally higher amounts
possible.
