The National Weather Service in Austin San Antonio has issued a
* small stream Flood Advisory for...
DeWitt County...
northern Karnes County...
southeastern Bexar County...
southern Guadalupe County...
southwestern Gonzales County...
Wilson County...
* until 100 PM CDT
* at 1055 am CDT... National Weather Service meteorologists have
detected thunderstorms with heavy rainfall across the advisory
area... which includes Elmendorf... Converse... and Nixon... extending
southeast to Kenedy and Cuero. Doppler radar estimates suggest
that between 1 and 2 inches of rain has fallen across this area.
Additional showers and thunderstorms... with occasional heavy
rainfall rates over 3 inches per hour could continue to create
run-off... so a Flash Flood Warning may be needed. A Flash Flood
Watch remains in effect for the advisory area through 6 PM.
* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause minor flooding to
occur... especially along small streams and near low water
crossings.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
