Chambers Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 7:17 AM CDT en Septiembre 25, 2014

...elevated tides possible through tonight...

Tide levels have increased to 1.0 to 1.5 feet above normal this morning due to a prolonged easterly fetch. Water levels may rise further as east winds will likely persist through the day. The long easterly fetch has also produced long period swells that will propagate toward the coast. This could further increase tidal action and increase the risk for some minor beach erosion.

Below is a table with the next high tide and expected water level at that time.

Site high water tide level

Morgans Point 850 am 2.3 feet 1113 PM 2.4 feet

Eagle Point 1013 PM 2.7 feet

Galveston Bay entrance 556 PM 3.2 feet

Freeport 527 PM 3.0 feet

Port O Connor 1016 PM 2.0 feet
