... Ice Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 am to 6 PM CST

* Impacts... ice accumulations of a quarter inch to a half inch
can be expected. Freezing rain may change over to sleet during
the afternoon. Only trace amounts of sleet accumulations can
* Power outages are likely. Strong northerly winds may knock
down trees as well. Bridges and overpasses will ice first
followed by roads.
An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations
will make travel dangerous or impossible. Travel is strongly
discouraged. Commerce will likely be severely impacted. If you
must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency. Ice accumulations and winds will
likely lead to snapped power lines and falling tree branches that
add to the danger.
Be aware of the dangers of Carbon monoxide... a colorless and odorless
gas that can be deadly. Carbon monoxide poisoning may result from
the use of portable fuel burning heaters... cooking grills... or gas
generators in areas that are not well ventilated.

A record high minimum temperature of 61 degrees was tied at Jackson
Tennessee yesterday. This ties the old record of 61 degrees which
was set back in 1982.
