Wind Chill Advisory
Statement as of 9:59 AM CST en Diciembre 10, 2013
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect from midnight tonight to
noon CST Wednesday...
* wind and visibility... although still gusty... northwest winds
will continue to diminish through the early morning hours
today. This will allow for improved visibility for the morning
commute. After a lull in wind speeds during the day... winds
will again increase to 15 to 25 mph tonight. These stronger
winds will create bitterly cold wind chills... along with
patchy blowing and drifting snow.
* Wind chill values... wind chill values of 20 below to 30 below
zero are expected late tonight through Wednesday morning.
A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when a strong wind will combine
with cold temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for
exposed skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 20 degrees
below zero or colder for a period of several hours. Those
planning to venture outdoors should dress warmly... making sure
that all exposed skin is covered.
