* Flash Flood Warning for...
Haskell County in southeast Oklahoma...
northern Latimer County in southeast Oklahoma...
northern Le Flore County in southeast Oklahoma...
Pittsburg County in southeast Oklahoma...
Sequoyah County in east central Oklahoma...
southeastern Muskogee County in east central Oklahoma...
southern McIntosh County in southeast Oklahoma...

* until 600 PM CDT

* at 1210 PM CDT... National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
thunderstorms with very heavy rain moving east at 35 mph back into
the warned area. 3 to 4 inches of rainfall has already occurred
with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible. This could lead to
significant flash flooding.

* Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to
occur. Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Eufaula... McAlester... Poteau... Sallisaw... Stigler... Wilburton...
Alderson... Arrowhead State Park... Ashland... Blocker... Bokoshe...
Briartown... Cameron... Canadian... Crowder... Enterprise... Gans...

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where water covers the Road to
unknown depths. It only takes two feet of rushing water to carry away
most sport utility vehicles and pickups. Take a different Route to
reach your destination or wait until the water recedes. Remember...
most flood related deaths occur in automobiles.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office in Tulsa.

evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Arkansas and Oklahoma... including the following
areas... in Arkansas... Benton... Carroll... Crawford... Franklin...
   Madison... Sebastian and Washington. In Oklahoma... Adair...
Cherokee... Choctaw... Haskell... Latimer... Le Flore... McIntosh...
   Muskogee... Pittsburg... Pushmataha and Sequoyah.

* Until 7 PM CDT this evening

* showers and thunderstorms will move across southeast Oklahoma
and northwest Arkansas through the late afternoon. Rainfall is
expected to taper off by early this evening. An additional 1
to 2 inches of rainfall are possible in the watch area through
7 PM.

Heavy rains flood roads and low lying areas rapidly. If you are
in the watch area... keep informed... and be ready for quick action
if flash flooding is observed or if a warning is issued.
