Statement as of 9:57 PM EST on Febrero 09, 2010 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST Wednesday... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM EST Wednesday. Occasional snow will taper off for a period through the early morning hours of Wednesday. Another area of snow is expected to develop late tonight and will last into Wednesday morning. Some brief bursts of heavy snow will be possible with this activity. Total additional snowfall for tonight and Wednesday will be one to two inches. In addition to the snow... northwest winds will increase tonight and early Wednesday... with gusts between 35 and 40 mph. The combination of falling snow... snow already on the ground... and gusty winds may lead to near whiteout conditions at times. Blowing snow will also make it very difficult to maintain clear roadways... and travel across the warned area will be hazardous tonight and Wednesday. A Winter Storm Warning for snow and blowing snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food... and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
