The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for blowing snow... which is in effect
from 3 PM CST /2 PM MST/ Monday to midnight CST /11 PM MST/
* Timing... dangerous wind chills through Monday morning. Blowing
Snow Advisory Monday afternoon through Monday evening.
* Wind chill values... to 35 below zero.
* Impact due to wind chill... frostbite to exposed skin and hypothermia.
* Impact due to blowing snow... hazardous travel with gusty winds
to 35 mph and reduced visibilities to around one half mile in
A Wind Chill Advisory means the combination of wind and very cold
air will create low wind chills. This will result in frost bite
and lead to hypothermia if precautions are not taken. If you must
venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that the wind
will cause reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Use extra caution
when traveling and avoid the use of cruise control.

... Areas of blowing and drifting snow Monday afternoon through
Two Alberta clipper systems will sweep across western and central
North Dakota Monday through Tuesday. Periods of gusty northwest
winds between 20 and 35 mph... with gusts to 40 mph can be
expected. New snowfall accumulations through Tuesday afternoon
will remain light... with one to two inches forecast along and west
of Highway 85... and less than one inch elsewhere.
The combination of strong winds... existing loose snow on the
ground... and additional light snowfall... will result in areas of
blowing and drifting snow. This may reduce visibilities and impact
