Friday. A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late Friday
night through Sunday morning.
* Timing... a cold front will move through after midnight tonight with
spreading much colder air into the area. Areas of drizzle and light
rain will become freezing drizzle or light freezing rain as
temperatures fall below freezing early Friday morning.
A larger and stronger winter storm system will arrive this
weekend... increasing the risk for more wintry precipitation over a
large portion of the area. Freezing rain will be the primary
concern Saturday morning and afternoon... followed by a round of
moderate snow Saturday evening into Sunday morning.
* Snow and ice accumulations... ice accumulation of less than a
tenth of an inch is expected late tonight through Friday morning.
This weekend... there is an increasing probability for a band of
3 to 6 inches of snow... with up to a half inch of sleet... and up to
a quarter inch of freezing rain over portions of the area. The
