Wind Chill Advisory

... Wind Chill Advisory now in effect until 9 am CST Saturday...
* wind and visibility... northwest winds will average 10 to 15 mph
tonight and Friday. Winds will decrease to 5 mph or less Friday
night but very cold temperatures will persist... resulting in
extremely cold wind chills.
* Wind chill values... wind chill values will fall into the 25 below
to 30 degrees below zero range tonight and Friday night... with only
a very slight recovery expected during the daytime on Friday.
A Wind Chill Advisory is issued when a strong wind will combine
with cold temperatures to create dangerously cold conditions for
exposed skin. The wind will make it feel like it is 20 degrees
below zero or colder for a period of several hours. Those
planning to venture outdoors should dress warmly... making sure
that all exposed skin is covered.

... Record daily maximum snowfall set at Huron SD...
Through 6 PM CST... the daily snowfall total at Huron South Dakota
was 3.0 inches. This broke the previous record of 2.9 inches... set
With a little more snow still in the forecast for this evening...
this total is likely to be greater by the end of the day. A final
daily snowfall total for the 4th of December will be sent after 12
