Statement as of 4:33 AM CST en Diciembre 13, 2013
... A brief bout of winter weather possible this morning and
An upper level low pressure system over the southern rockies will move
east today... bringing unsettled conditions to Arkansas both this morning
and again Saturday morning.
The system will bring primarily rain to the state... but some winter
weather can not be ruled out this morning in northwest and west
sections. A mix of freezing rain and sleet will be possible over
the northwest and west beginning around sunrise. However... amounts
will be rather small... with impacts mainly limited to bridges...
overpasses... and other elevated objects.
By mid morning... temperatures will warm above freezing across the
state. Precipitation should turn to all liquid.
Temperatures will fall below freezing after midnight across the
north... with light snow becoming the dominant precipitation type. Once
again... the impacts with this will be minimal... and mainly be
confined to elevated surfaces. Snow accumulations in the north will
be small if any.
