High pressure interacting with a strong thermal trough along the coast will continue to create strong north winds and hazardous seas into the weekend. Storm force winds are expected this evening in the southern waters beyond 15 nm offshore from point St George north to near Cape Blanco. Other areas will experience gale force winds. Winds will weaken slightly on Saturday.
